Before 1947, "India" was a term used to describe a geographic location, not a nation/country. Similiar to how "Middle east" is used to describe the geographic location of West Asian countires today. Harappa was a Pakistani Punjabi civilization.

The only region which was partitioned in 1947 was Punjab. Punjab was partitioned between Pakistan and Bharat.
