Yup. Usually at the airport, its a senior minister or a state governor... Here someone mentioned a deputy mayor received him, which I thought was a little rude. but again, it might be considered "normal" there... that's why I said the entire trip should be judged, not a single incident.
Be more specific which receptions are you talking about?? Putin, Rouhani were received in person by Erdogan at the presidential palace I think, not at the airport.
Yup. Maybe big receptions are not their thing. But I must admit, he was received rather rudely. Let's see, how the rest of the trip goes before jumping to conclusions... One thing to remember is, Erdogan was on very good terms with the Sharifs... I hope this is not a case of appeasing old friends...
