Unfortunately, I do have to somewhat agree with Hitchens on this. Mother Teresa was a pretty manipulative person who didn't really do much good for people.

One of the comments:
Of course, in all this, I think the more important thing than forced conversion is the forced marriage. I can't imagine being in the place of one of these girls. :frown:
We have plenty of injustices perpetrated against minorities, and I often speak up against them. But it doesn't appear that the law of the land is taking its course. And it's one thing if say a Hindu girl was raped and the police didn't catch the perpetrator. It's difficult to prove a one-off...
That's what I figured. While religious conversion might play a part in justifying it, the main motivation was no doubt to get a bride.
And certainly such bride kidnappings happen in India too (heck they happen all over the world in one form or another). But the fact that she's been able to...
:what::hitwall: Seriously? The girl in question was interviewed by the media. She said she was abducted and forcibly married and converted. Your statement reminds me of all those rapists who claim "she wanted it". People like you make me sick. :bad:
There will be crimes in any society. But what I can't understand is that this girl has obviously been able to contact the media, and yet the authorities there have done nothing?
Even compared to the usual Hitchens craziness, this was petty over the top.
In general though, as an atheist, I wish people like Dawkins and Hitchens would stop with their hysterical one sided attacks on religion and instead mention both the good and the bad symptoms of organized religion.
As a rule, I support third world countries "obtaining" technology to overcome the gap between them and first world countries.
Nevertheless, I don't see how you can justify stealing software. Don't you have enough self respect to write your own?
I agree overall with the article, but once again I see the liberal tendency to not see both sides of the coin. In this instance, this particular statement caught my eye:
The article makes the case that this statement blames the victim. I don't see anything of the sort. To admit that crime is...
It's cause Westerners like to view other countries as barbaric places in contrast to the "civilized west".
Thus, while I congratulate Pakistan on winning this Oscar, I think the Oscars and other similar film awards are extremely culturally biased.
