I am a Muslim of the Indian subcontinent. Let me tell you a story. This is the story of my life.

Too bad his memory doesn't stretch back to the civilizations that existed before the Indo-Aryans came...

US Air Force releases new photos of the B-21 Bomber

I think it's bonkers how we've gone from obsoleting bombers via stand-off range weapons (especially BMs) to, basically, returning full circle. Why? Because the technology that had supplanted them has gotten so advanced, having a true 'bomb truck' is incredibly valuable. You want to leverage that...

PSL: Worst teams "Karachi Kings & Quetta Gladiator" of the most competitive Pakistan Super Cricket League - Consistently Losers & Failures

tbh if there's anything that needs a reality TV show, it's the PSL. Guaranteed Oscars-level comedy material.

US Air Force releases new photos of the B-21 Bomber

I can see the B-21 becoming a template for future deep-strike aircraft designs in Europe and China. Obviously, the latter won't be as advanced from a technology standpoint, but it seems "small bombers" could return. Precision-guided munitions are getting smaller without losing efficacy...

    JF-17 Block-3 -- Updates, News & Discussion

@SQ8 @JamD I think the 'munition' of interest for the JF-17 Block-3 (and J-10CE) will be a loyal wingman UCAV. We should closely watch the systems China starts pitching for export. We could potentially see the Dragon Duo (J-10/JF-17) leverage something in the 1-2-ton MTOW category by 2030 IMHO.

6th International Pakistan Army Team Spirit (PATS) Competition - 2023

Taiz-o-Tund not to your liking? They even had a character selection menu.

Bankruptcy is no big deal for us. Zardari

I would've respected him if he said, "We're not repaying any debt! Come get it if you want it." Instead, he put up this hopesy-daisy, "It will pass" comment.

Plan to set up EPZ for copper mining in Waziristan finalised

The concepts you speak of still evade the thought capacity of Pakistanis. That's why characters like Ishaq Dar keep coming back. You'd have to be a bigger moron than that moron for that moron to run the show.

US (CIA) removed Imran Khan govt: Former British Ambassador

IMO we gotta move past IK and PTI. Let's say his government wasn't ousted. Heck, let's say he got re-elected. Even in that scenario, all of the underlying problems plaguing Pakistan would've continued to exist. The rot would've lingered, only to flare up another (albeit later) day. But we...

Turkish Defence Industry Exports & Updates

It's not just the sanctions, but rather, top-down planning focused on growing the private defence industry, promoting R&D people (not generals or bureaucrat), and investing in the industrial base (that feeds into the defence industry). If anything, most of the results we see today are because of...

The UAE Builds the Jeniah Stealth UCAV

Interesting emphasis on range/endurance rather than payload. It seems the UAE is positioning this as more of a strategic asset more so than just a loyal wingman UCAV.

Saudi Arabia wants to join Tempest 6 generation fighter project

Unfortunately, Egypt's dealing with its own IWT-type issues with Ethiopia, and that too with little resistance (due to an anemic economy). https://www.bbc.com/news/world-africa-53432948 This is a recurring issue, but the quality of your elites impacts the quality of your country. The Turks...

Saudi Arabia wants to join Tempest 6 generation fighter project

tbh I'd wager the African states will somehow pull out of it too...definitely (IMO) Senegal and Morocco, for example. It's the ones with our Pakistani-style mentality (well-entrenched elites, import culture, etc), e.g., Nigeria, Algeria, Somalia, Sudan, Egypt, etc, that will lag.

PAF J-10C News, Updates and Discussion

Short of OCA ops into India, what additional value would the 200 km-variant of the PL-15 realistically bring? I think the true value of the PLAAF's PL-15 stocks was likely in terms of seeker quality and, possibly, a better NEZ, than the range in itself. Or, perhaps, have some PL-15Es on hand is...

Pakistan must sign no-war pact with India: Former diplomat Ashraf Jehangir Qazi

Accuses leaders, institutions, and elites of failing Pakistan. Tells the same leaders, institutions, and elites to sign a no-war pact with India. Yeah, that's going to look good. /s People like this guy should be speaking to the public and demanding that they change the status-quo. Tell the...

Saudi Arabia wants to join Tempest 6 generation fighter project

Not surprising given the relationship built via the Tornado and Typhoon programs. I think the more interesting aspect is to see if KSA can localize the FCAS. Let's see if they decide to make big investments in critical industries, like gas turbines, composites, etc. This would be the biggest...

Why are superpowers so massive? Is this a size requirement? And is Pakistan too small to aspire to this goal? or any muslim nation for that matter.

It's a question of leadership and ambition. The leading establishments of every superpower had people who wanted to compete globally, remove borders, and shape other people's thoughts, actions, behavior, etc. Pakistani leaders don't have such ambition. Rather, everything they've done up to...

The Canadian government is considering buying 14 Boeing's P-8A

The PN has a requirement for 10 Sea Sultan LRMPAs. This too could also grow. So, it's bonkers to think about South Asia alone having some 30-40 full-sized airliner-based LRMPAs split between just 2 countries. If we add America's force-projection presence, then we're looking at 50+ LRMPAs in the...

NAVDEX 2023: Fincantieri offering S800 small submarine to Pakistan

I think Pakistan will gradually shift away from being an "all-weather ally" of China (which was never the case, just an overblown perception). I'm not saying there'll be animosity between China and Pakistan, but there'll be distance. We don't have the wherewithal to be a reliable Chinese ally as...

ABP India Summit 2023: Javed Akhtar Saw "No Visible Poverty" in Lahore, Pakistan

You also have far older bonds of inequality in Pakistan...like feudal relationships, tribal fealty, and so on. It's stratified and obvious when you compare provinces, cities, rural areas, and then rural areas to cities, and so on. I also think the inequalities that led to the poverty had always...
