thanks, as far as i know Konya is the Turkish capital of knowledge and education. it was a very important place during Ottoman times and after. food belongs to the Gaziantep, Kayseri and more central and east anatolian regions of Turkey. :D :tup:

you cant expect a country to become top notch democracy and freedom in top class in some years... Turkey's democracy is some 80-90 years old and we still dont have a perfect democratic system. democracy doesn't come over the night. good going for Azerbaijan. i would feel much safer in this...

so true. i was there for a week before driving to Konya and it was a mess. the traffic has to be dealt with. if you take public transport it is good. but for someone who doesn't live there the city is a labyrint. i love Istanbul but that city has to be better in transport, like Tokyo...
