Joe - Can you explain the above in more detail ? I have done my best to study the campaigns run by both sides - so was interested in how you arrived at the conclusion above !
@IblinI - Nicely written !
First portion is true ! IAF did not give any importance to home made product when it had access to the entire global weapons bazaar. Infact there were articles written calling Tejas a '3 legged cheetah'. However the entire narrative began to change post ganganshakti excercises. That single...
Whats a neutral source ? You were just seeking validation. There is no neutral source in Indo pak conflict. Each side tries to play other. Anyways - will not go here. A outsiders opinion has no importance to me.
:) - you know what i am talking about.
there's a world beyond Arnab. NDTV, Print -...
And yet prior history of obfuscations speaks a volume. PAK has had a history of brushing things under the carpet. Anyways if IAF lost SU - our media would have got a wind of it. I fully trust our media to scrutinize the crap out of any institutions.
SAR mission was for Abhi - you'd knew that...
Who is seeking that perspective ? And its just not perspective - its really a validation of your own thought process. You will see that rampant across this forum. Even Indians do it - its a legacy that british left behind. A white says good things - suddenly it validates everything was done...
Who said anything about firing ? Bringing out unused russian missiles from cold storage (missiles leftover from AFG conflict) is no bid deal. Some many Russian bases were overrun by Mujahideen those days - and you are saying that you dont have access to inventory ? Its actually nobrainer.
Dont...
My dear NE - selective quoting at best. I told very clearly that PAK can procure missiles however they want - whether its afghan conflict or iron brother or ebay - who knows. PAK has after all perfected these kinds of operations when they shipped nodong missiles from NK and painted it to launch...
I know what you are talking about. and yes - the issue exists. But the envelope of aircraft is not restricted coz of that. Pilots do dive and fire rockets. You have source - but i have personally seen them firing rockets in dive mode. This issue was more pronounced in flogger ! and yet IAF...
Again - where is this coming from ? What is the data point ? Anyways it does not matter.
F16 climbed out of Pir panjal ranges and located an F16 flying at lower altitude (base term was used to simplify explanation for the posters who just are not able to get the point). I am not talking nap of...
No ! IAF presser stated it lost Abhi who had gone across LOC. Also form
Did not even read your post and it does not deserve any further reply - not because i cant, but coz its a waste of time exchanging thoughts with a tinpot ! You have no clue how air combat works - to hide that deficiency...
So Elta has refused to work with Cobham. So in all probability - from Mk1A onwards we might see radome from Elta. I guess its their way of getting more work share - pity considering Cobham really accommodated us.
Since you are in touch with TP - whats their opinion about ODL ? Why is it so...
This is absolutely incorrect ! Reason why M2k was used for strike is simple ! Spice and Cristal Maze has only been integrated with M2K so far. Su 30 is undergoing that integration.
So for the mission profile that IAF wanted to execute - M2K was the best fit.
Interesting.
Is this a opinon or a fact ? Your data point behind this assertion ? Source ?
Again - can you provide articles for me to read ?
Plenty of banshee and layshay drones to test - simulation is done electronically as well. With poor life of Russian AAM's - i think its around 100hours...
Maybe - but he got caught. As a result - had to change in stance. There was a ticker running somewhere - on how many times ISPR changed its statements. Incase of IAF - no chage in statements, not once - till date.
Thats the official IAF statement i believe. Given a choice PAF would have never admitted they fired AMRAAM - IAF forced them to change their statement and admit they used F16 and fired AMRAAM.
Not sure about the background or context - but will try to answer
1. Did the Russians sell the IAF a SU-30 MKI simulator? Yes- I think 1st simulator was in 2011. Atleast thats what i saw.
2. Did the Russians sell the IAF any captive carry missiles or munitions? I have seen training missiles...
