Which is a very bad tradeoff, F-35 might be more expensive but Turkey was producing parts and was gonna become maintainance hub for them and would make billions just like with F-16s, aside from the invaluable experience in high tech industry. Not to mention how much more effective a F-35 is...

Well then you are not well informed. You can hardly compare Turkeys production capacities with that of Chinas which has more than 15 times the population but Turkey for its size has sent considerable amount of aid which include PPE and Medical Supplies around the world, including to China...

Is there actually any combat use of the S-400 to begin with? Israel uses Syrian Airspace like its own no. S-300/S-400 is able to stop them...
