    PTI working in Karachi

Agree, but the problem here is the awful way they've slapped it in the middle of the road, without even attempting to contain the edges. If well made, I agree, it's cheaper and easier to maintain - that is granted that the traffic you expect on any given road is not too heavy, in which case...

Pakistan launches $1billion Ijara Sukuk in global market

If it's collateral, it'll be exacted in case of default. Investors and international bond markets don't take this sort of stuff lightly. More than likely the legal documentation of this bond offering include obligations on collateral. Re the 7.95% thing. I'll do a quick analysis at work...

    PTI working in Karachi

The drainage and kerbs is another problem. I'm just talking about the fact that these are pure asphalt and not concrete. Asphalt in lots of places is used in driveways and quiet roads, it is not as long lasting or as durable I believe. And the way these roads are finished in the pictures...

    PTI working in Karachi

Given the way the edges of these roads are uncovered and unworked, they look awful. How long will they really last? A year or two?

Pakistan Cut Public Debt in Half On Musharraf's Watch in 1999-2008

Not hard to achieve when you’re in America’s pocket, and aid is equivalent to nearly 10% of your annual budget and dollar payments are no problem at all. Sellout dictators always manage to post decent figures if taken at face value. As much as I criticise the guy. I’ll take 10 years of IK over...

To bypass Pak; India, Iran launch 3rd shipping route to Chabahar

India can't change geographical, cultural, religious realities. Pakistan, Iran, and Afghanistan are destined to be allies of one sort or another. Build ports, it doesn't matter. I hope Iran and Afghanistan get the full benefit from it.

Now Pakistan is ranked at 28th Place in Transparency corruption index.

Lol. That's too much mental gymnastics. Transparency International doesn't give a damn about Pakistani politics. Old Imran Khan joined the mafia in order to discredit the new Imran Khan.

Should Pakistan take "inspiration" from American style presidential system?

If that's the line of argument, how is a presidential system any different. I've repeatedly asked for arguments to be presented in favour of a presidential system, but the best we get are very naïve and simplistic arguments. Is it the fault of parliamentary democracy that it is constantly and...

Should Pakistan take "inspiration" from American style presidential system?

We’re in a funny place in Pakistan, those who often rekindle the debate about a presidential system are peddling it as an alternative without explaining how it would practically benefit us. Meanwhile, a group from among them are just tired of parliamentary democracy and would love to see a...

The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Amazon series

Seems pretty interesting. Although the second age seems easily adaptable to a TV series, I think it's by far the least written about age, with the exception of Numenor. Man, no adaptation is safe from this kind of crap anymore.

Over 72% want to see Narendra Modi as next PM

The other 28% are minorities and intellectuals.

No Pride & Joy Tejas Among 75 Aircraft to Fly Past on Republic Day

As long as his is the prevalent view of what capable leadership should look like on their side. It makes Pakistan’s job easier, and it’s always refreshing to see. Some people are so far gone that they actually believe that a two front war scenario will go well for them, or that Pakistan’s...

UK asked to nab Indian army chief, home minister over Kashmir 'war crimes'

As a legend once said, it’s not about the money, it’s about sending a message. But seriously, this sort of negative press is very much due to you now, even if the consequences of it aren’t as easily levied on a country like Myanmar for example.

Pakistan considering Afghans to be allowed entry without visas

You have to hand it to the talibs. That was an excellent roast of Pakistanis, albeit coming from dudes who asked to see the gold when they broke into their own central bank.

No Pride & Joy Tejas Among 75 Aircraft to Fly Past on Republic Day

We get that the IAF was shaken by the Mirage crash in 1990. But surely they should have enough faith in their own ability to maintain their aircraft, after all Tejas flies with GE F404 and FADEC, and most of these are newer airframes with few hours and new engines. Seems like a bad excuse to me.

Early polls likely to be nip and tuck affair between PML-N and PTI

1% difference is literally well within the margin of error, the poll is actually quite decent for PTI, it shows a resilient vote bank. A few percentage points swing before the next election if achieved through populist policies could put them in the lead again. They might only need around 33-34%...
