The new TAI facilities and national combat aircraft engineering center opened.

Ok. You write an article and I'll send it to the guy. Fair warning though: the guy doesn't like the fact that PAF made him look towards Turkey and is probably bitter at the idea that Pakistan cannot do it alone. Veehhry slowly. I'm not saying money was never a problem. I'm saying that the way...

Turkey's Aviation City vs Pakistan's Aviation City: Just my guesses. And also here's some context:

The new TAI facilities and national combat aircraft engineering center opened.

Buildings - 5 years.* Actually useful Aviation City - 20 years.* *assuming steady supply of funding.

The new TAI facilities and national combat aircraft engineering center opened.

I don't think it is THAT simple. When Pakistan had money, it chose not to invest in domestic capacity whereas Turkey leaned into that heavily. Our planners believed that Turkey was wasting time doing license manufacturing and just putting Made in Turkey labels on foreign products. However...

I know. It looks like that this is what PAC is trying to ape. I don't mind the change in tact from the usual "lets make an idara". Yes, I can be an optimist :)

How to increase Pakistanis' induction to Marie Curie scholarship

Fulbright scholarships are still being given. They give almost 200 each year. Best opportunity for Pakistanis for higher education in US. However, I recommend only masters on Fulbright since you can get funded PhD quite easily (and is actually the standard in the US) once you have a US Master's...

    JF-17 Block-3 -- Updates, News & Discussion

The picture you posted is the old (South African I think) solution that was not accepted in the B2 production variants. This is what it looks like on production B2s - light and all:

I believe that is just a light for A2A refueling operations. It has been present on B2 (circle): The square highlights the panels that are replaced when the A2A probe needs to be attached.

You're right thank you for pointing it out. I cant edit the post anymore unfortunately. Well I think it's the building for the National Aerospace and Technology Park. Now what that is supposed to do, I dont know. Only vague and lofty goals have been stated: Excellence Through Innovation...

Yes I believe that's the VHF antenna. I don't think there are any missing sensors.

You're right! Same number, different positions.

    JF-17 Block-3 -- Updates, News & Discussion

No. It is like that with all prototypes and production models across most aircraft (even F35): The protruded pitot tube provides the best air data possible. It is used to calibrate the other smaller air-data system probes in test flights - like these on the JF-17: and recessed super-fancy...

Turkey wants to buy 40 new F-16 block70 and 80 F-16 modernization to the Viper standard

Project AZM will become that TFX. There is some groundwork in that direction already that may not lead to anything though.

If this happens (big if) then WS10ed TFX is a done deal.

    JF-17 Block-3 -- Updates, News & Discussion

As cheesy as it sounds but the two step process to achieve is simple to lay out and hard to implement: cultivate and attract the right human resource, and give them the resources and freedom to act. The achievement of these things require well thought out policy work. Of course you know this but...

    JF-17 Block-3 -- Updates, News & Discussion

@kursed @PanzerKiel Correct me if I am wrong but the tweet seems to say that 8 units will be rolled out tomorrow. Then, FTC will go through them and test them. Then they will be inducted into the PAF. That is, the handover isn't tomorrow. Only the rollout is.
