    Arjun-II MBT development l Updates & discussion.

The article doesn't say explicitly that it's CLGM; but the way it is described "objective of the test was to capture data generated during the trial and analyse it whether the weapon had that required effect on the target" this could just be a HEAT round.

India eyes Malaysian MIG-29s : Alan Warnes

Not sure about every single item on the list; but much of it was turned down by India as China wasn't behaving itself!! China was supposed to lay the high speed railways (several billions in value) but the deal is going completely to Japan now. China has been screaming from the roof tops that...

India eyes Malaysian MIG-29s : Alan Warnes

I don't know who Alan Warnes is (it appears he lives in WarnesyWorld); I would bet that most folks in this world haven't heard his name either. But when a statement comes from the 'Prime Minister of Malaysia' (the guy who'll actually make those decisions) then people take it more seriously...

India eyes Malaysian MIG-29s : Alan Warnes

Seems like India's buying all the junk from the world - Malaysia, Canada.... It may not be a bad idea. The Malaysian Mig29s have another 4000 hours of service life left for the airframe. Upgrades could extend the life to 6000 hours. India will probably bring it up to the Mig29UPN standards!

Russia gives a cold shoulder to India for the 5th generation fighter

In business it's called 'work for hire'. Your parlance probably comes from La'hore!!!

Russia gives a cold shoulder to India for the 5th generation fighter

Can you read? Or do you just blow your mouth off?? There has been a mention of India's 5th gen aircraft more than half a dozen times on this thread itself. Go read it before you embarrass yourself! It's called risk-reduction to try different options simultaneously!!

Russia gives a cold shoulder to India for the 5th generation fighter

India is making its own 5th gen fighter!!

Russia gives a cold shoulder to India for the 5th generation fighter

That must a statement to cover up the fact that there are no export orders :-) Not that they cannot deliver!!!

Russia gives a cold shoulder to India for the 5th generation fighter

Can't believe folks are still debating on this!!! It's a simple 'take it or leave it' transaction. Both countries know what's at stake - and are acting according to their interests. Just let the concerned adults take care of things....the kids should stop the second guessing!!

    HAL Tejas | Updates, News & Discussions-[Thread 2]

I wish they could add 2 hardpoints on the wingtips (of Mk2) to carry lightweight WVRAAMs. Normal configuration of Tejas will consume 4 hardpoints just for air/self defense (2xWVRAAMs + 2xBVRAAMs) leaving only 3 for any kind of mission payload. Now given that Tejas has a small internal fuel tank...

    HAL Tejas | Updates, News & Discussions-[Thread 2]

Nope there's no conformal fuel tank - that's the body of the aircraft. As of now, Navy is not - things could always change!! (I think some of the pics are several years old - not sure if they reflect the most recent iteration)

Russia gives a cold shoulder to India for the 5th generation fighter

Just to be clear FGFA is the India's proposed joint effort with Russia (for a 5th gen aircraft). The India only effort for 5th gen aircraft is called AMCA. We'll have to wait and see how things turn out in the future.

Russia gives a cold shoulder to India for the 5th generation fighter

Don't know why exactly this argument is still continuing. The facts are so clear!! India has effectively pulled out - it hasn't put in a penny into the program since the last 7 years (since it contributed some money to the preliminary design effort)!! Don't understand the statements like 'India...

Russia gives a cold shoulder to India for the 5th generation fighter

India has a dual strategy. Try to get the best that's out there and simultaneously try to develop an indigenous versions. The indigenous missile defense system is also coming up nicely - India already halved the S400 systems that it intended to buy from Russia (same with FGFA - if ever Russia...

Russia gives a cold shoulder to India for the 5th generation fighter

Both those options are being worked on.(AMCA is India's own effort to develop a 5th gen stealth aircraft - expected in fly in about 6 years, and inducted in about 10 years - this effort will go on irrespective of FGFA fruitioning). The third option is F35! You're absolutely right. The seller...

Russia gives a cold shoulder to India for the 5th generation fighter

This conversation is going on for too long and in circles!! Let me try to put this to rest: - Firstly India wasn't expecting FGFA (in its arsenal) until 2025-30. - FGFA is based on Indian requirements, which India knows very well will take 6-8 years to design and test!!! - PAKFA is something...

Russia gives a cold shoulder to India for the 5th generation fighter

Firstly, F16s spares production will not be stopped outright (Lockheed is even thinking of moving the spares production to India). Secondly, India is not going to sign on to the F35 deal and wait for 15 years - any deal will have a delivery schedule built into it or its a no deal!!!
