For example out of 120 graduates who take the exam for the program only 4 are selected and the rest can try again next year but they however will still practice as a GP.

Some colleges are adopting the British system(3 years basic 3 years clinical and one year internship) But now colleges are adopting a newly established Saudi System (You get a year and a half of crash course basic sciences then 3.5 years studying it in a systemic way Begging from blood for example studying everything about it from Anatomy to Pathology to Pharmacology all devoted to the single subject of blood with one final exam on it then you move on to CNS and go down till you reach Reproductive system. Then the next two years are hospital years where you spend most of your time there as a student not an intern as an observer sort to speak also get to do stuff here and there to gain the experience. Then it is one year internship which is jammed by Exams like SLE (Saudi License Exam) etc.
