ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Rehman Malik said on Sunday that the terrorists are infiltrating into Pakistan via Afghanistan, and asked the Afghan government to take action against it.

Talking to a news channel, Malik said that the activists of Lashkar-e-Jhangvi and Sipah-e-Sihaba do not follow any religion and only acting upon the directives of their leaders.

He maintained that the terrorists wanted to unleash sectarian clashes in the country. He hinted at involvement of a third power behind the ongoing terrorist activities that wanted to destabilize the country.

Rehman Malik said one of the two suicide bombers who detonated themselves at Data Darbar, Lahore has been identified.

Would like to know who are those third powers ? Mr rehman malik do you have enough evidence to support your claim or are u using the word 3rd power to justify your incompetence ?

You want evidence? Do you ask for evidence when NATO makes claim about Taliban infiltrating into Afghanistan through Pakistan?

Could you two please elaborate at what you're trying to get at? And if you're trying to troll and apply double standards then you're most welcome to do that at BR.

no u dont get me,by stating my above line i mean the same,u r nowhere equal to that of nato(military or economy or influence),so double standards r bound to happen, thats what i meant

Our economic and military capability is completely irrelevant in this case. If you're saying that it's OK for them to have double standards then we can have our own double standards too. We can also ask for proof for their claims and do nothing unless they give us proof.

But then again, given how simplistic the thoughts of Indians on this forum are, these kinds of posts are completely expected.

Pakistan blames Afghan militants for deadly bombing

By Aleem Maqbool

BBC News, Islamabad

Pakistan's interior minister says Nato and Afghanistan are not doing enough to stop Taliban militants crossing the border from Afghanistan into Pakistan.

Rehman Malik also disputed the widely-held belief that Pakistani militants are freely heading in the other direction to fight coalition troops.

He told the BBC that he blamed Afghan militants for Friday's attack in Mohmand district.

The attack, the deadliest in Pakistan this year, killed more than 100 people.

It happened in an area the Pakistani government had recently claimed had been cleared of militants and said was safe for civilians to return to.

Mr Malik says he has intelligence to prove his claim.

Mr Malik says he has intelligence information to prove that the attackers had crossed the border from Afghanistan.

He said he had "demanded" that the Afghan government and Nato "stop border infiltration".

But there is considerable evidence to suggest militants have been heading in the opposite direction relatively freely - something Mr Malik claims his government has put a stop to.

And, of course, the attacks in Pakistan have been taking place not just in tribal border areas like Mohmand, but right across the country.

That has caused a great deal of anger among Pakistanis, many of whom believe their government simply does not have the right strategies in place, or the competence, to reduce the threat.

man dont compare urself with NATO

Give me one good reason why not to? Are we not a major non nato front-line ally in GWOT?

Are we not the largest contributor to SABRE

Are we not the largest contributor to CT Intel to Interpol and Rewards for Justice Program? Did we not participate in US State Dept. on the ATAP?

Does Pakistan not share Intel on CT and CI operations with CIA, ISAF and NATO? Has Pakistan not re-affirmed it's commitment to counter-terrorism operations year, after year?

In 2009 : The 87 suicide attacks in were 32 percent
higher than the previous year. These attacks claimed the lives of 1,299 persons and injured 3,633. http://san-pips.com/download.php?f=29.pdf

According to the Security report published for June 2010:
A total of 175 attacks were reported across the country claiming 128 lives and injuring 258 others. Balochistan was the worst hit area by nationalist insurgency where 70 reported attacks killed 40 people and injured 81 others.

In the Federally Administered Tribal Areas of Pakistan (FATA) 51 attacks claimed 35 lives and injured 89 others; while with 28 reported attacks Khyber-Pukhtunkhwa was the third worst hit area by the militancy where 18 people lost their lives and 34 were wounded. Karachi suffered 14 attacks which left 20 people dead and 9 inured while 5 attacks were reported in Punjab. In Islamabad 2 attacks killed 9 people and injured 26 others.

The maximum number of casualties was of the militants who continue to suffer the maximum number of casualties for the seventh consecutive month due to ongoing military operation in Orakzai Agency and few others parts of FATA. The militants suffered 699 death casualties and 374 injuries. The second highest number of casualties was of the civilians with162 life losses and 230 injuries mainly in terrorist attacks. In the terrorist attacks and their clashes with the militants the security forces lost 64 personnel among them 25 FC, 10 police 23 army, 1 ranger and 5 levy force personnel ; while 168 others including 36 FC, 26 police, 3 paramilitary force and 5 levy force personnel were injured. So you see Pakistan is playing its fair share as a ally in the GWOT, we are also committed to fighting not only our own internal threats but the threat posed by the Taliban across the region.

Empirical data provide sufficient information to support Pakistan's position as a major stakeholder in regional security and our internal capabilities are sufficient to assess the threats from various actors.

We are only exercising our right as a front line ally in the war on terrorism.

I give a damn to Rehman Malik's statement. But i have every reason to believe the statement of Governor KP Owais Ghani and according to him, the recent bombing in Mohamand Agency wherein over 106 people were martyred, was planned and carried out from Afghanistan.

The Governor was speaking to press during his visit to LRH Peshawar to inquire about the health of those injured in that blast

So does anyone want the U.S. to lose against the Taliban ? Because there will be many more coming in if that happens to be the case.

Well personally, someone would have to be thick in the head to fantasies about a scenario like that. But take the latest development across the border: UK troops to pull out of Sangin - CENTRAL/S. ASIA - Al Jazeera English

Just goes to show how volatile and fluid the situation in Afghanistan still is, it is not as simple as many think. And many of the concerns of Pakistan are totally justified.

If the Americans do loose, who do you think stands to suffer most? I will tell you who, the Afghani and Pakistani people. That’s who!

But the British army quickly found itself spread too thin as 8,000 troops were scattered across the largest province in Afghanistan.

And they have the audacity to say "Pakistan does not commit enough troops"...

Most of Helmand province remains deeply insecure, according to a US defence department report released in April. The report also found that persistent insecurity and a lack of basic services have made the population ambivalent or even hostile towards the government in Kabul.

What happens if NATO lose control of Helmand? Where are those guys headed to re-supply and re-arm?

It is clearly evident that Pakistan is faced with a very difficult fight on its hands, its operations in FATA and its continued worries about Taliban influence in Quetta and Baluchistan. To claim that all in Pakistan are having "wet-dreams" of the glorious Taliban destroying the evil goliath that is USA... Well im sorry but that is both naive and far from the truth.
