This is time to post another JF-17 thunder.

The Minister for Defence Production, Rana Tanveer Hussain, who is on an official visit to Egypt, was received by President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi, at Ittihadiya Palace, Cairo. President El-Sisi underlined the need to further expand and strengthen bilateral co-operation between the two brotherly countries in all domains, especially in defence production where the two countries could greatly benefit from each other’s expertise.

President El-Sisi also called for greater co-operation among brotherly countries to face contemporary challenges besetting the Islamic Ummah. The Egyptian side evinced keen interest in acquiring JF-17 Thunder aircraft and other military equipment from Pakistan.

They also expressed desire for collaboration in joint production of certain defence equipment. The two sides agreed to exchange expert level delegations to work out modalities for further co-operation. Ambassador of Pakistan, Mushtaq Ali Shah, hosted a dinner in honour of the Minister, at the Pakistan House, Cairo, which was attended by the Egyptian Minister for Military Production and senior officials from the Ministries of Defence, Military Production and Foreign Affairs.

If BLOCK III turns out to be seriously deadly machine with AESA and more hard points than Egypt very well could become the second largest operator of JF-17. They are looking for a fighter jet and BLOCK III equipped with AESA with no chance of sanctions instead they can get them with TOT and best weapons package including Air to Surface Cruise Missiles like RAAD and also BVR which Egyptian F-16 lack is the best thing which can happen to Egyptian Air Force.

Why??
It has hundreds of F-16s
Mirage 2000
and it is also inducting Rafale..

I wish they get few squadrons of jf17. Also many countries showing interest, Jf17 has great future for exports just we need good marketing team, but how can we export Raad missile, its range is 350Km. We can't export this missile due to MTCR limitations. Correct me if i am wrong or missing something

Egyptian Air Force Combat and close air support jets list :
230 - F-16s C/Ds
6 - Rafales - More on order
18 - Mirage 2000s
80 - Mirage 5s ( gonna retire soon )
50 - Mig-35s
60 - Mig 21 Fishbeds ( gonna retire soon )
60 - J-7s ( gonna retire soon )

55 - Alpha jets
12 - Air Tractors 802

I think If they buy JF-17s in future that would be to replace J-7s , Mig 21s , Mirage 5s , Alpha jets , Air Tractors . Conclusion is that Egypt would need around 200 modern jets to replace the jets mentioned above , and like Zarvan bhai said that they would most probably go for the Block 3 JF-17s because of the new goodies that would be introduced like AESA .

I think they are after ToT (to defend themselves against sanctions). At least that is what they wanted last time, when the deal broke down.

I dont think thet r gonna buy jft.
Of course they need to replace their mig and aplha jets but i Think they will buy some su-30 or chineese variants.
