What if Pakistan & India were together ?

I just fail to understand why do people come up with such stupid scenarios? Your country is your Motherland, who want's to come with sick ideas and scenarios which start with loosing your very own identity/existence? it's like thinking what would have happened if one's mother was married to some fucked up bastard..........get a life, feel proud in who you are. what so great about being called a super power that you even consider losing your ID.

Certainly, as we do threat perceptions all the time, I just to know what people think. I know for sure it is impossible and for good. We can never be enough Thankful to Jinnah but I still wanted to know what people think about it. I am indeed a very proud Pakistani but I think for the sake of argument there is no harm to know what people think.

Alert! before you people start grilling me for this title "What if Pakistan & India were together ?" or even start trolling. Lets just assume, what would be the scenario if we both (India & Pakistan) were together or could form a union. I know this is nearly impossible but just for the sake of knowledge and discussion, I'd like to know what we could have achieved together and what would be the dynamics of this region.

Do you think we could have been a potential candidate for a super power ? and how our relations would have been with our current neighbors. Plus give your serious input of our potential together and what challenges we would have faced.

@dadeechi

Think about a situation where many poor Afircan countries are together....Nothing would have happened....They would have remain poor and underdeveloped if also they are together or separate...

Same answer to both India and Pakistan...Both of the nations are still yet to reach a level where they can provide a quality life to their citizen....We made lot of hype and less in substance...In that context, i admire China and the way they conduct themselves....So to answer your question, nothing would have happened...rather each day in the name of whether Hindu and Muslims are superior to each other, we would be fighting with each other....That is why i always feel Jinah made the right choice by asking for separation...But i always feel sorry that the separation was not the complete one....

Civil war. Muslims would have been vulnerable and could have been erased due to the overwhelming Hindu majority. At the time it was a concern that Muslims would be erase from the sub continent and thus Pakistan was created.

Give another century and Pakistan's any Indic culture left will be forgotten. The problem is India's cultural influence has the most predominant impact seems to be in Pakistan, because of the media and the Indic languages Urdu, Punjabi, Sindhi etc which connects with the Indian culture. while, Rest of the neighbours don't have this problem. Be it Srilanka or Nepal or even Bangladesh. If Pakistan especially Punjab, Sindh aligns more to the west, eventually this cultural connection with India can be erased. Iran, Turkey are good models as a Muslim country to follow.

An Oxford graduate Jat of Karnal could have got what he actually deserve other then being murdered as Prime minister . I personally rate him better the Qaideajam M.A Jinnha .

three words ..... civil war + anarchy and chaos that to at least 10X brutal and blood spilling as we just saw in syria and iraq ..... god bless Jinnah and place him in the highest level of Jannat for he divided the sub continent

Muslims of subcontinent would number 495 million be under a single nation, without fighting each other currently.

This would make the middle-east insecure, as subcontinent Muslims will attempt to influence Muslims around the region.

This united India will be at war with Middle-east, Central Asia and China over Xinjiang.
