Few months ago I used to buy Milk from Shop .

Amul Gold used to cost 62 INR per liter .
Before that we used to buy Milk from Milkman who used to mix Water and Milk . So we stopped taking Milk from Him .

Now we have stopped Buying Amul Milk and started taking Milk from Neighbor .
Now we get Fresh Cow Milk at 35 INR per liter . Even this neighbor has the bad habit of sometimes mixing Water and Milk .

Now to the query .

1L Amul Milk = 62
1L Fresh Milk = 35

I wonder how much Profit I am making which in turn lowering the profits of Company

Wonder how much money Company makes thanks to Capitalism ?

For me MILK is better than Alcohol , Tea , Coffee and Cold Drinks .

Milk we drink these days from Amul , mother dairy or DMS for any other branded packaged are all "pressurised milk"

Well if more people get their own cows and increase supply, the price of Amul milk will also come down because of market forces from more localised supply.

The next door guys milk is cheaper because you are not paying for all the logistics, transport and storage process etc. with Amul. Basically he is passing on the savings of owning a cow to you....in a way its a sort of subsidy....since I would imagine amul is more close to the real market price.

Its crazy, Amul milk is almost the price of milk here in Canada (a buck a liter). Maybe others can share their milk prices.

Atleast you have a choice- Amul milk, milk from neighbour's cow or no milk at all. This is the best thing, capitalism or not. There's a competition in market, which will ultimately drive the commodity prices down. Neighbour's cow cannot meet massive order volume, like airlines, hotels and offices. Therefore Amul's loss is very minor. Besides your neighbour will not be able to provide you different milk products like butter, ghee, paneer.

Slow work day here in the morning.

Onus is on more locals to buy their own cows and see if they can undercut Amul. Its really that simple. If they cannot do so (sustainably), then market price is at where Amul says it will be....as far as who gets the money within Amul....I heard farmers get a good share since its a co-op model at its base?
