It will be a little plus minus in the trend of percentage allocation in past. Army will get Major Chunk followed by Air force.

We are just spending 1.7% of our GDP on defence so there is plenty of scope. Money is not a problem for us.

i dont know....but india should not spend more than 2.0-2.5 % of gdp. on defense.... its more than enough..... we need money else where... in infra, manufacturing, roads, hospitals, college, institutions, and many more....
though its look cool to have so many of those awesome machines in inventory, but its kind of liability ... no one knows if these things will ever see war like scenario.... we are yet not in the league of wealthy nation ...

bd is a friendly country for india. you need not bother.

In 2013, Indian GDP was 110 trillion rupees while defence budget was 1.934 trillion rupees. Do math and see if it was less than 2% or not. LOLs

SIPRI will add it called "Stealth spending" to 47billion$, 36billion $~40billion $/1.9trillion $GDP equals 1.9% to 2.1%
Just as CHina is 113billion $(1.3%) in 2013 while SIPRI said 188billion $(2%)

SIPRI...simply because its is a independent watch dog that tracks defense expenditures across the world .

governments have a reasons to hide defense expenditures.
