We aren't British, and we aren't Chinese: HongKongese

Meh that's nothing, just like the states seceding over here. Nothing will happen.

I think the Western media and our Indian friends are giving undue weight to one segment of Hongkongese society. There are many others in Hongkong who do not share the views of these people in those protests. And in the recent Hongkong elections despite all the poohaa's over "patriotic education" the pro-Beijing parties have made significant gains.

I was closely following the election that week. The result was really surprising to say the least. I actually expected pro-Beijing parties to lose by a lot.

Kinda ironic that in the end, pro-Beijing parties not only held their ground but even break the golden ratio in the congress.....and up until now I still don't understand why that was, the only thing I can think of is the anti-Beijing parties had louder speakers/news outlet etc, making this illusion of being the "majority".....(kinda like how western media always portrays themselves as the "world")

the illusion which u r trying to create is not working.. the HK people desire for their own identity is very visible

I really can't create any illusion myself.....I'm not a news reporter nor do I have any influence on any type of news report. If you actually followed the election you'll know, everyone was caught by surprise, even the anti-Beijing party itself.......

The illusion you are "trying" to create in this thread .... the original news story is quoted from the press.

Do you really think anyone can persuade anyone on this forum? Facts are lies and lies are facts. Everyone here already has their mind set. I only try to contribute to the discussion by providing what I found out as a bystander. (I don't care HK or their people, because I already can't care enough of my own family/people)

I kinda feel you're personally attacking me by accusing me trying to create "illusion". I have no intention nor time to convince any of the forum people to believe in anything. You can try to believe it or not believe it. You can put forth your own source of news etc but not by twisting my intention.

"We aren't british ,and we aren't turks, we are their servants and we are proud of that."An indian said.

What relevance does this have with the subject @ hand ?

Often when there is nothing relevant to post, one should just read the thread & move on.
