What are the major BD industries ?

Here are some industries that exports goods. (mainly developed contries)

-Shipbuilding
-RMG
-pharmaceuticals

We are not naive or small country in terms of population that any country will come and destroy local industry so easily. If any country is doing it is India. Regarding counterfeit cheap electronics people have always a tendency to buy cheap products and her also in Canada, but it is not gonna do anything to local industry as local industry of Bangladesh do not produce them. Instead we are looking for ways to expand our export to China. For other export we need to produce more value added products that we can export to China. We are gradually moving towards that direction.



Bd do not produce most of the thing that we bring from China. So no chance of destroying local industry.

When u import value added product from China, how can u think they will allow u to export the same to them...
In business every country look after their interest... Its not as if China is angel, its what u have got to counter the trading partners intelligently..

When electronics goods of all countries in the world is going to China what makes you think that it will stop Bangladeshi products. China has kept wages artificially low, to produce cheap products plus various incentives from govt... For local industry to even start thinking about it, they need a favourable business atmosphere... If cheap products are filling ur country, how can one make of thinking low cost phones, lower than cheap imports?
I hope u do know, all major electronics companies have their factories in China... Export from China in electronics sector is more than u or me think off... BD competing in China in electronics will be a nightmare, as BD have nothing new to offer in that field right now....

Now u have got to the point.... When ur industry matures, lik Mobile phone industry, they will start asking ur govt to put up Anti-dumping charges as a trade barriers to prevent China and Indian mobiles from entering BD, n protecting local Industry...
Every country puts up trade barriers to protect their local industries, and India, as a developing nation have that right to impose barriers... U have got to understand that, instead of blindly blaming India, my friend...

You are right and thats why it has a higher demand and they are the main buyer. A poor man can not afford to buy real iphone but he becomes happy when he see a fake chinese made iphone at a very low price then the original price. These people gladly buy these products. Though it is illegal but buying and selling happen openly.

Most of the chinese products those are sold are cheap and replica of expensive brands which mostly the poor people buys. Bd electronic manufacturer I do not think will be able to meet that demand of expensive brands by making replica anytime soon.

For your info latest figure says that it is 345 million usd and it is peaking up gradually. Now target of Bangladesh is to export RMG product which China can not prevent in any way. China knows it and not only that they are bringing their garment industry to Bangladesh.
