IAF set to lose its fighting edge

The only way to open their eyes is a comparison with an adversary.

I smell additional orders from Russia.:pop:
I thought you guys had moved on from Pakistan to China, but looks like we are back to square one.

This news article was important as to speed up the aircraft acquisitions.

Now the ignorant MPs in parliament can go on panicky mode and cry out loud which is good for the Air Force.

Excellent NeWs.

You beat me to it.

Additional Mirages would fill the gap better or we may go for few extra Russian manufactured mki's/ Mig29 / French Manufactured Rafale .

Should we rather concentrate on the quality rather than quantity?

It's just the lull before the storm.

Just another 4-5 years and after that the Rafale starts rolling in and then the PAKFA and may be even the LCA.

So it's only a matter of a few more years.

Besides, the letter by Gen Singh seems to have done the trick.

Even the PAK-FA will not come till 2019.

So eventually, we will go for more number of Rafales or India might just end up buying the Su-35's...

Rafale was selected even before Gen Singh's letter.

I heard if agreement is signed in this FY, first batch of Rafale will come by 2015. Anton already said PAKFA will only come by 2019, if not more considering how complex these aircrafts have become..

And i still dont understand why we keep those vintage SEPECAT Jaguars.

If they can be replaced with dedicated 4.5+ gen strategic ground attack fighter it would be a real game changer.

Since the decisive victory against Pakistan in 1971, the Indian defence strategy has been based on having a superior air power over Pakistan and China.

The part that made me lol.

When did that happened?

Buying second hands for gap filling is a bad idea.
