Hi guys,

I am unable to install Skype on my computer. I am regular user of skype and use it 3 or 4 hours daily to talk to my family and friends back home. I used to have old version of skype which i removed to get the latest version but now installation is getting fail again and again. I tried it so many times and the error i get is " Invalid drive I:/" and then process of installation stop. I don't even have I:/ drive on my pc and there are only C and D hard drives and E DVD RW. I dont know what's wrong there? any idea?

window vista :)

The sorta' standard advise I have for this is download a piece of software called CCleaner. Use that to uninstall Skype and re-boot, re-download and re-install Skype.

Sometimes, remnants of the older version can be left behind by the updaters/installers. I bet you hadn't updated Skype for a long time?

Let me know if that helps.

Now why did you remove Skype older version, You could have upgraded it.

Read this would help. I have never encountered such problems with Skype.

Raja sahib im no computer expert but why dont you reset your computer to a date before you tryed to install the new version and use the old version - at least you will still be able to communicate with your family

dude try to search through google, it has answer for every thing :)

In lay man terms your register is corrupt-
i advise you to re install the OS again as long term solution-
For time being if you are not a novice user- use any free registry cleaning software-

This will clear any previous installation files and registry entries that may have been interfering with the new install-
