Russia hails Pakistan’s SCO bid

you used to say that pakistan is main ally of usa!!!!:azn:.now u r shifting ur stance.......
i think some other indian made an impact on you:azn:
:D:D

ally in the sense both had interests with afghanistan, pakistan was never an ally in a big sense, pakistan never supported american invasion in iraq, to meddle in middle east, pakistan never support anti china stance of usa

with the closure of war, pakistan and america will become allies again like they were pre afghan invasion, i-e more weapons embargo

its a revolution in stretgic way, pakistan was a foe of russia, but russian and pakistani policy has completely taken a u turn now, a great decider for the future block

but im surprised what has compelled russians to become friends with pakistan?? mmrca??

What is the problem with Russia and Pakistan? Nothing. Russia now wants to globally participate with all nations for mutual interests.

soviet war and india, russia wants to participate, but pakistan is more important an ally for them, also russia wants to strengthen anti US alliance

Yes, Russia seems to be nervous about India getting close to the US. And the US is annoyed that India is refusing to join the US camp.

This might be why Russia wants Pakistan in the SCO, rather than India.

India will not agitate China and Russia by siding with America. Besides America is too far away to be of any use. The only thing India can get most out of America are technology, energy deals and words of assurance here and there. Due to India's reluctance to join the SCO and kept it's perculiar stance of sitting by the fence and benefitting from both sides, it frustrated the Russians. So instead of playing kiss chase with India, it chose to invest in Pakistan instead. In my own opinion it would be the wiser choice too as it serves several purposes. Getting rid of American influence in pakistan for one, getting closer to Afghanistan and rest of ME is another and last but not least access to port to get to Africa etc.

russians will now be thinking of selling s300 to pak now ;)

or what about pia flights to moscow

Important Notice

Joining SCO or getting SCO membership mean withdrawing from Non-Aligned Movement (NAM).

Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) is a group of states considering themselves not aligned formally with or against any major power bloc.

This is the main reason some Asian countries not interested to get membership in SCO.

Majority of Asian countries are members of Non-Aligned Movement.

Times are changing buddy.

Russia doesn't like the USA and NATO. That is their biggest concern at the moment.

Perhaps they are worried that India seems to be more USA-friendly these days.

but i must say russians will play dirty, atleast americans didnt play dirty

india has always been two headed freak, thats why they didnt have any major diplomatic power till 90s, just now americans seem to groom them for anti china, and india has developed an important thing in US and americans always thought pakistan is so dumb, they can handle pakistan simultaneously play games with us and we will not move an inch from them after getting f-16s

US cant afford to lose pakistan at this moment, esp when their plans of evacuation is hanging in balance, and russia seem to gain from this

it will also remove some chinese mistrust for pkistanis as well pakistan moves away from america and towards russia, so two gains from one loss

Not just because of the failed mmrca contract. The fact that India is getting themselves involved in Afghanistan and playing along with the U.S. brings added concern to the Russians. Russia wanted Americans out of the region but India isn't helping it. Both China and Russia knows that America's WoT is nothing more than an excuse for them to make military establishments in the regions crucial to the future needs of Russia and China. They saw through the 'mission creeping' of US and its NATO allies and basically decided enough is enough and they are having non of it.

China trusts Pakistan, more than ANY other country in the entire world. So I wouldn't be worried about that.

Countries do what they need to do, even China cooperates with the USA on several issues.

Pakistan should be in Non-Aligned Movement (NAM), Pakistan need more investment & trade with every country, specially now due to some economic issues….

For Pakistan this is not a good time to join any power bloc, because it will send wrong signals to some other countries…

Sometimes people have to take their chances as they come. You never know how long you have to wait until the next boat arrives, it may or it may not. India already opted out and lost out on the chance to. Pakstan will still be able to do business internationally, it will not stop countries from making deals with them. Being in a defensive bloc means cost will be spreaded amongst all members when it comes to counter terrorism. You never know, it may even pave way for future military tech collaboration and we may end up being a bit like NATO in terms of having members using same defense systems to make things logistically efficient. All this plus investments pouring into pakistan will help Pakistan's economy boom as it will have more spending power and more money to spend developing its country.

Russia opens Afghanistan supply route for US - Telegraph

You obviously have no idea about politics do you ?

Russia is on the same side as the West on Afghanistan . Russia along with India and Iran has been rabidly anti Taliban since the 90s itself and we were together supporting the Northern alliance ( I hope you know what that was) against the Taliban which was supported by your brothers from another mother i.e the Pakistanis . Russians have faced hell of a lot of terror from Chechen terrorists who also received training in Afghanistan under Taliban rule in the 90s.

SCO is not a military bloc it was never meant to be , so its membership is nothing like NATO.
