India failed miserably in controlling the deaths. Given that all the hospitals were overwhelmed, and we don’t even know the statistics of rural India.

Anywhere between 2x-10x is likely. Not unusual if the death toll is 4 million. It was scary bad during delta outbreak.

It comes around 4.6 mil if you take the official number of 520,000 deaths. From most of my relatives including my parents cousins families, there were around 4-5 deaths (All of them around 60's and 70's and had access to O2 and ICU etc.) So that number is very much possible as large number of people didn't have access to medical facilities.

Those who died are not going to comeback even if these statistics by WHO are true
So what is the use of posting such stats, no need to waste time over what has happened in past.

Focus should be now on how to Prevent future pandemics.

Have they died at home or in hospital? If they died in Hospital or even at home after Corona test positive, they are already counted. There is no reason of the actual death toll being 4 to 5 time higher. Infact, if corona was found positive and patient dies of any other reason, they are considered to be corona death. Any person found positive was registered on government site and counted. Any death of any person who was found to be positive and died was considered a corona death.

I am from Gujarat. I have not seen any such case. Here, the testing was so intensive that they will come to your house and check in remotest of the corner. Soon as you are found positive, it will be updated on website. They will stick a board on your house. Do not spread the false rumor.
