MV-22 Osprey Takeoff and Landing On New USS Lewis B. Puller Ship...

Technically, I love the concept but it has not been very popular and it is too expensive.

It provides an amazing lift capability. The reason i see its not popular is because US does not offer it for sale even to allies. Israel is the only country to get an exemption for the purchase of these.

Well it is too expensive and it is faster than helis but slower than normal transport airplane. I mean if it was so useful then Europe, China and Russia would have worked on this concept. It is still developed using well-known technologies.

I take it you speak from extensive personal experience in military systems analyses.

This is like someone who does not have a car is criticizing someone who is developing one.

Europe, Russia and China have and are working on tilt-rotor designs.

Europe's (Italy specifically) AW609 is expected to be inducted this year:

Russia experimented with a concept called the MI-30 in the 80s. It never came to fruition, but Russia is currently developing its own tilt-rotor design based of the same design program. It did build hybrid designs like the KA-22.

China too has its own tilt-rotor development programs. In 2017 a program called "blue whale" was announced for a four engine tilt-rotor design.

Twin rotor designs also offer benefits over traditional helicopters, but they haven't been widely produced outside of Russia.

Good positive response . As I said, I like the concept.
Still we see those are not high on priority lists. Helis & conventional mil transport airplanes still doing the bulk of the job. Let's see if anyone can come up with an economical solution since technology has advanced quite a bit since then.

A lot man..I'm really sad. Any tips to get happy?
I'm you're happy ...and not one of those suicidal veterans

@gambit
I hope you can help them with your experience

Do not worry about me but about yourselves -- those who obsesses over the flaws of American military hardware. Innovations comes with costs and compromises. It is like someone who does not know how to drive criticizing a professional F1 racer, even the lowest rated one.

Tip to get happy? Yeah -- GROW THE FVCK UP. I understand it is simple in concept but difficult in execution, but do try anyway. Maybe if enough people have that attitude, then maybe their countries would not be so behind US because not so many of their brightest would be in the US. Shocking, ain't it? :enjoy:
