2018-04-01 20:44:44

Within six months, the second satellite launch mission of the Indian Space Research Organization ended in failure.
According to the “India Times” website reported on April 1st, the Indian Space Research Organization has confirmed that the most powerful communication satellite "GSAT-6A" has lost contact.
The satellite was launched on Thursday via the Indian "GSLV-F08" launch vehicle. It lost contact with the rear after trying the second orbital operation on Saturday morning. After preliminary analysis, it may be that the satellite power system has failed.

The communication satellite weighs 2,140 kilograms and costs INR 2.7 billion. It is the highest-quality communications satellite in India. The R&D department stated that it installed an antenna with a diameter of six meters and once enabled it would be able to conduct two-way data and audio and video exchanges on Indian lands through handheld devices and satellites.
India successfully launched a "GSAT-6A" communications satellite in 2015. The GSLV MK-2 launch vehicle that launched the satellite is also equipped with a new generation of domestically-developed large-thrust Weikas cryogenic engine. This improved engine will greatly increase the payload of the rocket.
The Indian Space Research Organization also stated that there will be 10 rocket launch plans for different missions in the coming September.
