Saudi Arabia buys the full Grom-2 missile project

Saudi Arabia on July 21, 2017 purchased a DVD containing The Grom-2 missile project for $ 4 million.

The project is composed of both a Ballistic missile as well as a Cruise Missile.. and more

That was talking about the Ukrainian version, the Saudi one will have mainly local components and some highly advanced components might be imported in the beginning..Saudi Arabia has the base of the technological infrastructure.. so the missile like the AN-132 will have Ukrainian as well as local and imported components.. not bad for a start..

That is well known, and if you are following the news or the example of this article in this thread, you'll know by now that KSA is diversifying its partners throughout the world..It is also trying to get what it can from the US..And to be clearer Saudi Arabia, does not want assembly only.. it is seeking real ToT and know-how..

How is it that Iran, under severe international sanctions has managed to build a long range ballistic missile arsenal while Saudi Arabia with all its wealth and prosperity during that period did not even build a rocket for themselves?

What a stupid and a strategic blunder on the part of the Saudis. Even war-torn Yemen has managed to fire nearly 80 ballistic missiles on Saudi Arabia.

Saudi Arabia has already paid $40 million to Ukraine for reviving the project a while back.. so this might explain the amount paid for the DVD..
