It seems The perfect place close to equator where Turkish satellite launch center will be constructed, have been finally found. It is in phase-2 critical development phase and will have liquid propellant rocket motors. It was announced recent days that SSM is negotiating with a few African states (Sudan and Somalia) to establish this center.

It might most likely be Sudan.. but I don't understand why the word "temporarily" is used in the title!?

We will invest in Sudan and rent the Island maybe for + 50 years . Sudan is a sovereign State. Already investment plans signed with Turkish Companies today.
One of them is Aziz Yildirim President of FB Istanbul soccer club and the main NATO military infrastrutcure constructor in Turkey.

I am not sure about renting the Island.. that will look like renting a base.. Sudan's official policy is against any foreign base.. but it is open to joined cooperative bases, like the one _not yet signed with Russia_..I think the Sudanese will get involved in the base as well..so it won't look like a foreign base.. but it is a good development indeed..

Agreed . Turkish base in Mogadishu is also a joined base. For sure we will cooperate with Sudan militarily as we do in Somalia and Niger.

What's your point? Please write some words at last.

Uppss!

1. The president talked about restoration only
2. The island seemed to be very small for a SLV launchpad. And very close to inhabitant areas! You know SLV fumes are very toxic!

It's also a tourist destination with preserved heritage sites.

Who knows ? The bay of Sawakin was the most important harbour of the red sea for centuries.
Possible, that the little island will be restorated as cultiral heritage .

And the main point is SAWAKIN will be reconstructed.
Turkish President said today Sudan will becomae a hub to Jeddah, as it was before.

The rest is speculation at the moment.
But if SSM said some days ago negotiations with some African countries e.g. Sudan and Somalia for Launch Site are ongoing, what's wrong ?

Aziz Yildirim is owner of one the biggest construction companies in Türkiye and he signed the contract representing Turkish Consortiums .

It's also a tourist destination with preserved heritage sites.

I wrote that the preserved island will be protected and reconstructed.
AA agency journalist seems to have misunderstood SARAKIN, which is also SUAKIN.
I edited the headline.

The one doesn't exclude the other.

Some stages of the missiles might be common to the space rocket..

Best place for a launch pad would be on the equator in Somalia, if the country becomes stable. Otherwise Turkey could help build up Pakistan's Sonmiani Facility for polar Launches such as for their GokTurk Spy Satellites

Exactly.

This island is more suitable for a trade base rather than a launch base.
