Zardari calls for early passage of anti-honour killing bill

What he and ALL OF us fail to notice and point out is the fact that these honor killings are culture related and not religion related. All government can do about this is to make the punishment as harsh as possible and justice as swift as it is meant to be! Rest is about educating the masses and preaching tolerance which no one seems to be doing. The honor killings are most common in Sindh province and in rural Punjab so perhaps we need to focus on these areas and educate people.

Most important thing will be if we give women equal share in property like other siblings. It will change people's mind set for centuries, of course by religion. And they'll know that women are no way less than men. They can do business and whatever job they like. Each one to his/her own honour. Perhaps then we can increase respect for women on basic level.

How you see sir, religion can play major role in this regards. But, are our religious figures ready for this transformation of law. Or govt. has guts to bring new law of equal inheritance for women.

I believe this step will equally stand sister with brother as human, further opening their way for freedom of choice.
