Matter of time before we get this...

The item atop the rotor is not a radar but a mast mounted sight. It looks suspiciously like that used on the Eurocopter Tiger attack helicopter. In all likelihood, the image is of an AS-365/565 Dauphin testing that sight. Not a Z-10 at all, but possibly a Z-9. Note that Z-10 uses a nose mounted sight, just like Apache.

The caption of my pic was:

June.23 (China Defense Mashup Reporting by Johnathan Weng) — Before the service of trouble-annoying WZ-10, WZ-9 armed helicopter is still playing the key role of “Air anti-tank Strike” and “Close Air Support” in PLA Army. This WZ-9 helicopter has been installed with a electronic/optical sensor pod on the rotor hub. It is unclear that this pod is for Fire Control or battlefield Reconnaissance.

But the pod on the top is also available for Apache LB, it might be optional for recon missions:

Any new news on the Z10 btw, is it ready now?

Dear Munir Sir,

Matter of time before we get this..

Are you guessing it or PA actually is negotiating with the chinese regarding this?

Sorry for my ignorance. :)

surprisingly Z-9 looks more intimidating than Z-10(more conventional type simple heli). r we getting them (or which one to be precise Z-9/10?)or is it some one dream? where the money is coming from? alot of questions but no one to answer!!!

if we r getting, must come with TOT- in every aspect, does not matter how long does it take to digest the transfer of Tech, n i hope this is the mind set around establishment.

Any official news on this? Any link?

It seems like PN already have that helicopter:

KARACHI, Jan 29: Pakistan Navy will soon acquire Airborne Early Warning (AEW) aircraft and Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) to strengthen its air fleet, according to Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Noman Bashir.

Speaking on Thursday at a ceremony marking the induction of a Fokker aircraft and commissioning of the T-56 Engine Test Bench at the Pakistan Navy Aviation Base, PNS Mehran, Admiral Bashir described the induction of Z-9 helicopters, AEWs, UAVs and P-3Cs as a “force multiplier” for the navy’s fleet of aircraft.

Some wiki infos about the Z9 version in the picture above:

WZ-9/Z-9W: Armed version with optional pylon-mounted armament and gyro stabilised, roof-mounted optical sight. Export designation Z-9G, roof-mounted sight optional. Newer night-capable versions have been built with nose-mounted FLIR.

Google with "Z 9" and "mast mounted sight". You'll find that Huitong had another pic of that on his site (no longer there)
