Excluding platforms such as Chinese third-party platforms and PC consoles, Yuanshen has attracted more than 4 billion US dollars since its listing. According to statistics from Sensor Tower, the mobile application data analysis platform of Red Star Capital Bureau, since its launch in September 2020, the mobile terminal of "Yuan Shen" has achieved more than 4 billion US dollars (about 27.68 billion yuan) in revenue. Among them, in the first 11 months of 2022, the mobile terminal revenue of "Yuan Shen" is about 1.64 billion US dollars (about 11.32 billion yuan)
It is worth noting that the above revenue is only mobile terminal revenue. On January 3, the Red Star Capital Bureau contacted Mihayou about the overall income of "Yuan Shen" on the PC side and the console side. As of press time, no effective reply has been received yet. The success of "Yuan Shen" in the global market is like a typical badge, representing the strategy and achievements of Chinese games going overseas in recent years. The five most profitable mobile games in the world are all issued by Chinese companies According to news from the Red Star Capital Bureau, recently, Sensor Tower data shows that in November 2022, a total of 43 Chinese manufacturers will be shortlisted for the top 100 global mobile game publisher revenue list. Due to the strong performance of new games launched by manufacturers such as Tencent and Chaoxi Guangnian in overseas markets, these 43 manufacturers have attracted US$2.07 billion in total, an increase of 11.3% compared to October, accounting for 40.2% of the revenue of the global TOP100 mobile game publishers in this period. Specifically, the top three mobile game revenue rankings in China's App store in November 2022 are Tencent's "Glory of the King" and "Peace Elite", and Mihayou's "Yuan Shen". In the global mobile game revenue rankings, the rankings have changed to Tencent's "Glory of the King", Mihayou's "Yuan Shen", Tencent's Tencent "PUBG Mobile" ("PUBG Mobile", combined with "Peace Elite" income) .
Sensor Tower data shows that in November 2022, Tencent's "Honor of Kings" will attract more than 200 million US dollars in the global App Store and Google Play, ranking first in the global mobile game best-selling list. Revenue from the iOS market in China accounted for 95.5%, and revenue from overseas markets accounted for 4.5%. As of November 2022, the cumulative revenue of "Glory of the King" in 2022 will reach 2.56 billion US dollars (approximately RMB 17.663 billion). Mihayou's "Yuan Shen" mobile terminal ranked second on the list with a revenue of 170 million US dollars, of which 49% of the revenue came from the Chinese iOS market, and the Japanese market accounted for 17.9%. It is worth noting that on November 2, 2022, version 3.2 of "Yuanshin God" will be launched, and the game's turnover on that day will reach the highest value since 2022. With this, Mihayou’s mobile terminal revenue in November increased by 47% month-on-month, returning to the top three in the global mobile game publisher revenue list, second only to Tencent and Activision Blizzard. Tencent's "PUBG Mobile" (combined with the revenue of "Peace Elite") ranked third on the list with an income of nearly 130 million US dollars. In addition, the other two games in the top five on the list are also "GODDESS OF VICTORY: NIKKE" ("Goddess of Victory: Nikke", hereinafter referred to as "Nikke") and "Candy Crush Saga" ("Candy Legend") released by Tencent.

In other words, in November 2022, Tencent will occupy four of the top five most profitable mobile games in the world. Mihayou suddenly emerged and ranked second. The Red Star Capital Bureau noticed that among the five major mobile games, the two major game publishing companies are Chinese companies, but these five games are mostly overseas works. In addition to Mihayou's "Yuan Shen" which has received good responses at home and abroad, Tencent's "Nikke", which was just launched in October 2022, has also reached the top of the mobile application market in South Korea, the United States and other places. Earned $100 million in turnover. According to Sensor Tower monitoring data, in the month before the release of "Nikke", that is, during the period from October 4 to November 3, 2022, the Chinese market accounted for as high as 89.4% of Tencent's global mobile revenue market share. One month after the launch of "Nikke", Tencent's global mobile revenue accounted for 76.9% of the Chinese market, a drop of 12.5 percentage points from before. On the other hand, Japan, South Korea, and the U.S. markets all grew, contributing 7.6% (up 6.2 percentage points), 4.4% (up 3.9 percentage points) and 4.4% (up 1.9 percentage points) to Tencent’s global mobile revenue, respectively. For Tencent, this means that its game overseas strategy has achieved milestone results.

After the rise of "Yuan Shen" in 2020, Tencent's overseas game investment has accelerated significantly. According to statistics, in 2020, Tencent made 33 investments in the game field. By 2021, Tencent’s investment will increase significantly, and it will acquire or invest in more than 100 game companies, 30% of which are overseas transactions. At the end of 2021, Tencent directly established the overseas distribution brand Level Infinite, with offices in Amsterdam, the Netherlands and Singapore, and business teams all over the world. In August 2022, Tencent announced that it would take a stake in From Software, the developer of "Elden's Ring", becoming its second largest shareholder; in September 2022, Tencent injected capital into French game developer Ubisoft, increasing its shareholding ratio from 5% to 9.99%, becoming Ubisoft's largest single shareholder. NetEase also closely deploys overseas markets. In May 2022, NetEase announced the establishment of its first game studio in the United States, Jackalope Games, which is positioned as PC and console game development; in August 2022, NetEase announced the acquisition of Quantic Dream, the French game developer of "Detroit: Become Human". SA, after the acquisition is completed, Quantic Dream SA will maintain independent operations as NetEase's first studio in Europe. At present, NetEase's overseas game studios have covered Japan, North America, Europe and other places. In addition to established giants such as Tencent and NetEase, new game players such as MiHoYo and Lilith will also launch overseas publishing brands for the first time in 2022, landing more overseas studios.

On February 14 last year, MiHoYo launched HoYoverse, a global game distribution brand, and stated that HoYoverse will expand its content production, technical research and distribution functions through its offices in Montreal, Los Angeles, Singapore, Tokyo and Seoul. Its headquarters Singapore office has opened and says it will grow to hundreds of jobs by the end of this year. Two months later, Lilith also announced that it officially launched a new global game distribution brand, Farlight Games. The company is headquartered in Singapore, providing support and services for Lilith's global game distribution.

Overseas sales revenue of Chinese game companies up 6.2% Specifically, the financial reports of various game companies also reflect the growth characteristics of overseas markets. In November last year, Tencent disclosed its financial report showing that in the third quarter of 2022, game revenue in Tencent's local market fell by 7% to 31.2 billion yuan. At the same time, game revenue in overseas markets increased by 3% to RMB 11.7 billion, or an increase of 1% at constant exchange rates. Based on this calculation, Tencent's overseas game revenue accounted for about 27% of the total game revenue, higher than the 24% in the first quarter of last year and 25% in the second quarter. It is gradually approaching Tencent's goal of "half of domestic and overseas game revenue". Netease's third quarter report for 2022 shows that the net revenue of games and related value-added services was 18.699 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 9.1%, of which online game revenue was 17.4 billion yuan, and the proportion of domestic and overseas revenue was not disclosed. However, in the financial report conference call in the first quarter of 2022, Ding Lei once said that Netease games currently account for more than 10% of revenue from overseas markets, and plans to expand the revenue from overseas to 40%-50% in the future. The financial report of the A-share game company Sanqi Mutual Entertainment also shows that overseas revenue is further increasing. In the first half of 2022, Sanqi Mutual Entertainment’s overseas revenue was 3.033 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 48.33%, which was much higher than the year-on-year growth rate of the overall revenue of less than 8%. 27.1% increased significantly to 37.5%.

It's a great game. You can still play every content without spending any money.

@CHN Bamboo
Nah, it's my principle to not play gacha games. I do support gacha publisher/devs if they go clean though, like Fate GO is doing with the new samurai game.
Ton of wuxia games being announced man, just wait until they come out.
