The staff of defence.pk has tried their best to impress upon a few users about the need to stick to our basic (and lenient) forum rules. While 99% of the time we've had tremendous support from you all, there have been a few incidents of neglect.

Certain actions that are strongly frowned upon around here:

1. Sending spam evites. Not only does this annoy our members who do not wish to be solicited, this is also nothing short of theft. Theft of our marketing money, our efforts, and our traffic. We like to help out any and every website that comes out with a good plan. Even potential and current competitors. Please approach us, we'll assist you in a professional manner. We have a lot of experience to share and you will find that we go out of the way to help out the good guys.

2. Talking off topic. ow we're strong proponents of free-speech. Maybe more than the guy who invented that phrase. You're free to criticize anything, anyone, any religion, any practice... Pretty much everything imaginable. But you only talk about ONE thing per thread. What the thread is about.

a. Now the beauty of debate is that your criticism does not have to be accepted. Nothing is etched in stone. We're here to give our opinions, you might make believers and followers out of your counterparts you may land unsuccessful. No one has to agree with you no matter what. You give your opinions, you hear others'.

b. Some really ugly opinions. Some people are just going to be mean about your country, your religion. We don't want anyone to be mean around here, but thats part of freedom of speech. We have to tolerate extreme criticism too, we can't define levels of free speech.

3. Even if someone is being super mean, your job, as a participant in this debate is to answer whatever mean thing they said about the thread topic. You can't call the mean person anything. You can't even call him mean. I'm pretty sure the thread won't be about that person, and hence that cannot be a topic to be discussed in that thread. So relate that with point number 2 and you won't go offtopic.

a. But just try not to be mean. Talk politely. You'll find that bulk of the crowd here does not resort to expletives and would not appreciate you using them, no matter how much the situation called for it. Being polite does not mean you can't be aggressive about the subject matter of the thread. The thread topic is open to debate, anything about our members, is not.

b. Remember you're in the company of Lawyers, Military professionals, politicians, journalists, think tanks, engineers, doctors, IT professionals, businessmen, and other accomplished professionals.

4. Creating multiple accounts. We've got computerized sophisticated systems that can't be beaten even with proxies. There are sophisticated mathematical equations used in algorithms that are dedicated to pick out users creating multiple IDs. You won't get away.

We require your continued support in maintaining this forum as a clean environment for good ol fashioned debates. For any comments please write to us @
