In my view, both sides of the equation should be represented and questions and opinions should be allowed without having to brand someone as a traitor. The Pakistani society needs to get over this insecurity. So what if Hoodbhoy asks for the nuclear rollback? Is this becoming a state policy? No, however such debate and counterpoints should be allowed as it helps refine the decision making and thought process in the country. The more the public understand and sees the counterpoints, the broader the opinions and choices to make which in the end is always a good thing.

Correct but what about the trojan horse tactic the west uses to get their stuff done in other countries ? Hoodhbhoy is creating confusion among the youth about our nuclear program. His own motivation is to get a nobel peace prize as per a PAF officer who is close to Mr Hoodboy.

The man is one of those men who spread confusion about Pakistans ideology, bashes the army!

If you start looking up things about him, you'll find plenty to support this!

I used to love his Show, Asraar e Jahaan!

great scientific awesome things used to be telecasted on it...

But a problem with too much scientific mind, is that you forget that there is a spiritual element to the world, and specially to this Sacred Land! and Pakistan Army is a leader army for the whole Muslim Nation, and Our Nuclear weapon is a deterrant to all Forces of Kuffar accross the world. Yaum e Takbir, the day we made our Bomb, is called such, because we dedicated our Bomb to Allah's Greatness! Not to threat other earthlings! Not to oppress people! Not to wage war! But to End War and oppression!

You need to look the bully's of the world in the eye, and flex your own muscles when Allah places you to stand for the rights of Oprressed humanity!

Parvaiz Hoodhboy just doesn't see this side of Pakistan..

Dear bro, When Pakistan declared itself as a Nuclear state, Lamps were lighted from Moroccow to Indonesia, and muslims all across the world wept with joy at the concept that now the voices of the Muslims can be heard, and the oppression shall be ended.

Aeronaut,

There is no confusion to be had about the nuclear program. We have the bomb now, just as the former DG ISI and Hoodbhoy are agreeing upon. In any country, you will always find someone against nuclearization. Some would even claim that the bomb is not allowed according to the Islamic rules of warfare etc. etc. So we should let him voice his concerns and stay away from branding someone as a traitor etc.

This is going down the same old SAFMA vs. Zaid Hamid debate path. The nation should have diverging opinions. As long as this is left to discussions, it is fine. It only increases tolerance of other's views and accommodation. Surely we can have more of this in Pakistan and around the world in general.

its god damn propaganda nothing was lamped for nukes kindly give me a single image of that lamping . no muslim was wept or cry only pakistani nation was happy and lamping .these damn stories speared by whom? 30.000 pakistanis killed in last 5 years give me image or link a single rally for pakistan from Morocco to Indonesia ? no body i emotional for others but only we stupids .

Pervez Hoodbhoy should stick to what he is qualified for: nuclear physics & mathematics. Not something he is not qualified for (geostrategic politics), although he has every right to express his views freely, no matter how uninformed & baseless they are.

I think as Pakistani's we should as a nation be more tolerant to different views, it will make us stronger in the long term.

Is our president a traitor? lol

Dr. Pervez Hoodbhoy is a strong and avid supporter for peaceful use of nuclear technology in Pakistan, non-nuclear proliferation, and nuclear disarmament; and criticizing the United States, Israel, Pakistan's and India's nuclear program in many national and international forums.

Hoodbhoy widely writes about the role and modernization of Pakistan Armed Forces, particularly the defence budget spending by the Government of Pakistan on Pakistan Armed Forces. While he is critical to the role of Pakistan Armed Forces in politics, Hoodbhoy gives much criticism to the Pakistan Army for imposing unlawful Martial Law. Hoodbhoy heavily criticizes the militant and fundamental Islam, while avidly supporting Pakistan Armed Forces to initiate their operations against the Islamic extremism in his country. Hoodbhoy was among the first activist who rose their support for the Pakistan Armed Forces Operation Black Thunderstorm, as part of conflict in West-Pakistan. While, Hoodbhoy gave criticism to nuclear weapons programme, Hoodbhoy maintained that self deterrence and nuclear deterrence programme had protected Pakistan in numerous war fronts. While Hoodbhoy remains staunch supporter for Pakistan's nuclear energy programme exclusively devoted for the industrial and economical use.

According to Hoodbhoy, Pakistan puts tremendous and extreme science efforts to developed its deterrence programme which was developed in extreme secrecy under Munir Ahmad Khan. If the same the finance and efforts on economical and technological progress, Pakistan would be equivalent to that of either Japan or South Korea.

it was announced that Dr. Hoodbhoy would be receiving Sitara-e-Imtiaz from the former President, General (retired) Pervaiz Musharraf which he refused to accept. His refusal prompted The Friday Times to interview him.

I guess these views don't qualify him as traitor :)

Everyone appears to be so focused on Hoodbhoy that they do not even notice this super-extremist Gul.

While Hoodbhoy, irrespective of how remote a point he makes, always talks with established facts that can be rechecked. This Gul guy has been caught lying time and again, just to push his personal points across.

Even in this video he could not get rid of his habit of exaggerating his BS in the hope that others would be ignorant of facts and take his words on face value.

Did no one really notice that just to give more weight to his point, this man actually goes on to lie about some "Congresswoman" (third video 5:48 onwards) who claims to have visited Indian Consulates in Afghanistan and Zahedan? It was no Congresswoman, no official ever made such claims. That claim was made by some Christine Fair who is an Assistance Professor at Georgetown Univ.

Ask Gul who is that Congresswoman, and he will go blank.

This man simply cannot digest the fact that the Jihad in Afghanistan came with an expiry date.

And what the heck is this "Gori Chamdi" term he cannot seem to get rid of? Was he himself not so happy to work for the same "Gori Chamdi" in his prime?

It is very depressing to see even educated ones blindly supporting this guy, even in the times of internet when one can very easily get a hold of truth.
