If one thing people should have learnt during this crisis is that the one in trouble is the creditor. Which creditor likes its investment to go bankrupt?

Americans still have all the toilet paper, bras and toys they bought from China and the oil from Arabs. What will Arabs and Chinese be left with other than some paper?

When the stomach growls with hunger, and these toilet papers, bras and toys are brought out even for exchanging some morself of food, let alone arab and chinese 'paper', none will be forthcoming.

Did all the riches that the Roman Empire had accumulated save them? Are the Americans even a tenth of what the might Romans were?

I think you should look at it in a different angle. Chinese and Arab people have spent 100s of billions from oil and trade revenue buying american companies and bonds, meaning they own a fairly decent part of the US economy.
A good part of these funds, especially the arab funds, are retractable, meaning they are able to withdraw their money and punish the US economy severely the rest would amount to a debt to these countries. Chinese ownership of US bond means that the US owes China a ton of money combine that with a weak dollar and continous chinese buying up and the chinese own more and more of the US.
It is therefore in everybodys interest to keep the US economy alive.

Those who feel america is to collapse, should keep one thing in mind. A Might never collapse, it may be shrinked for a while but with one buble of air it shall emerge as Might.
America shall remain superpower with two modern day superpowers China and Russia in 2020.
Pakistan shall emerge as a good business partner of US in 2015 and shall be treated by americans as a sister country.

It's unlikely that Russia will emerge as a superpower again. Their economy is one tenth the size of the US. Even $200 a barrel can't compensate for that. Unless Russia can somehow start generating 5-10% growth per year in it's economy, it can't hope to compete on the world stage forever.

It's population is 140 million vs 300 million in the US. Russia will remain a regional power due to it's weapons technology and nuclear weapons but it is hard to see how they could ever be a superpower again without somehow bringing all the old Soviet republics back into their empire.

China is a different story though, They have a huge population and a rapidly growing economy. There is a good chance China could emerge as a superpower in the 2020-2025 timeframe.

4. They have lost the milletery Option in the Korean Peninsula and South American Peninsula (Vinizuella and Cuba).
5. Their overall standing in the world is seriously Deteriated due to their wars in Afghanistan and Iraq
6. Even Nato has refused to send its forces for American Rescue.

Like All the Past Glorious Empires This Empire is on the verge of BREAKDOWN but it will still take time

Like All the Past Glorious Empires This Empire is on the verge of BREAKDOWN but it will still take time

1. It's not the worst economic conditions in a century. The great depression of the 1930's was much much much worse. It is much more comparable to the 1970's.

2. We are heavily committed in Iraq for now. The number of troops in Iraq should start declining soon. Afghanistan will still be a mission for the US military for the next 5-10 yrs at least.

3. You are probably right on this one.

4. There hasn't been a military option in North Korea since the 1950's. There definitely hasn't been one for at least the last 20 years. Neither China nor South Korea want to see the North Korea fall apart. South Korea doesn't want the expense of cleaning up the mess. For all practical purposes, the North Korean economy doesn't exist. They fail to even feed their own people on a regular basis.

China doesn't want millions of refugees coming across the border. China has a hard enough time dealing with the few thousand North Korea refugees they have now.

As to Venezuela and Cuba, I would expect to see normal relations between the US and Cuba in about 10 years. Venezuela and Chavez, Unless crude oil goes back up to $100 a barrel, Chavez doesn't have the money to pay for all the promises he has made.

5. There are about 30,000 Nato troops in Afghanistan right now.
