WikiLeaks: Narendra Modi, the lone honest Indian politician

the sun rises in the east due to rss scheming.......no seriously........

if a tea shop owner from an extremely backward caste can today aspire to become the PM of the country due to hard work then it is as democratic as democratic can get....something people wont see in ANY other party in India....

and that is exactly why he was removed when the majority wanted.....what is undemocratic about this ? you are a case of seeing ghosts where none exists.....seeing yellow everywhere because of jaundiced eyes....

Due to hard work, or due to a brutal and deliberate policy of currying favour with the bigots of the RSS by perverting his oath to the constitution and conniving at the slaughter of Muslims?

As far as Gadkari is concerned, there was no overt effort at finding the sentiment of the RSS workers within the BJP, it was just a decision by the RSS, whatever gloss one puts on it.

Finally, you are falling into the same error as most other apologists for the Parivar. Those opposed to the Parivar are not Congress supporters necessarily.

what are the undemocratic actions by the sangh parivare?

same old same old...dont people ever get tired of this shameless lies and character assasination of a democratically elected CM ? 11 years have passed by and still not a shred of evidence ....yet the howling has not stopped......

he rose to this position by sheer grit, dedication hard work and most importantly the good governance that he has provided to the state of Gujarat.......not because of his surname or caste affliations.......he is one of the very few sucessful self made politicians in india today......

when ever i see these "gentry" frothing in their mouth against modi the caustic yet relevant words of swapan dasgupta as he addressed to that rascal mani shankar aiyer comes to mind - "mani's peeve at modi is simply because of his elitist class mentality. he is angered how a tea shop vendor from a backward caste can rise to claim india's most powerful political position".. I sense the same elitist mentality in you.....

lol RSS was intent on retaining gadkari and its top most idealogues like gurumurthy were very clear about it.....but the bjp did not want a head who had some allegations against him and he was taken off his post in a true democratic manner and rajnath singh was elected as his replacement in a democratic manner....bjp unlike other parties dont operate on surnames....

but i guess you wont see it...because of the programmed hate against bjp and rss........

Finally, you are falling into the same error as most other apologists for the Parivar. Those opposed to the Parivar are not Congress supporters necessarily.

Actually right now..yes it is.....any one not voting for a change, not voting for the next credible opposition (NDA) this time is indirectly helping the congress retain power.....there are no two ways about it......if you remain neutral to ineptness/inefficiency/arrogance of the congress, then you are guilty of the same.....

You have the disapproval of Vajpayee, not the most secular of leaders, yet a fair man and not a party to betrayal of the constitutional oath of office. You have the clear and unambiguous testimony of the BJP's own allies, and of its tallest leader. You have the testimony of hundreds of innocents attacked while they were in their homes, defenceless. You have the testimony of the worst perpetrators, who bragged about the official support they got.

And we have you.

he rose to this position by sheer grit, dedication hard work and most importantly the good governance that he has provided to the state of Gujarat.......not because of his surname or caste affliations.......he is one of the very few sucessful self made politicians in india today......

Yes, of course, self-made, with the backing of a fundamentalist organisation better organised for evil and mischief than many that we recognise so readily on the other side of the border.

Self-made, with the help of two decades of indoctrination, among caste Hindus, among the tribals, among every single constituency that mattered by the RSS and its front organisations, who never stop bragging about the foundations that they prepared for the BJP to build on.

Good governance on the blood of hundreds, good governance consisting of memoranda of understanding that exceed China's total FDI, but which have resulted in few practical results.

A hollow, plastic-bottomed leader, preaching a hollow, plastic-bottomed ideology and theology, followed by and revered by hollow, plastic-bottomed followers, preaching their leader's virtues on PDF, no less. Hypocrisy is strained at the seams. If this sanctimonious publicity is not intended to create trouble, what else is it doing here, of all places?

when ever i see these "gentry" frothing in their mouth against modi the caustic yet relevant words of swapan dasgupta as he addressded to that rascal mani shankar aiyer comes to mind - "mani's peeve at modi is simply because of his elitist class mentality. he is angered how a tea shop vendor from a backward caste can rise to claim india's most powerful political position".. I sense the same elitist mentality in you.....

Umm, the same school as that bankrupt rogue Swapan DasGupta, as it happens. And if I was elitist, I would not have argued for the recognition of multiple identities, including legitimising the quest for identities among the Dalit, the tribals, and minority religious groups.

Unlike your caste Hindu stance, by the way.

You should learn what elitism means in context, and not just spout its dictionary meaning. This is India, and in India, the elitist is represented by those who want to crush every other identity under that of casteist Hindu identity.

lol RSS was intent on retaining gadkari and its top most idealogues like gurumurthy were very clear about it.....but the bjp did not want a head who had some allegations against him and he was taken off his post in a true democratic manner and rajnath singh was elected as his replacement in a democratic manner....bjp unlike other parties dont operate on surnames....

Rajnath is as much a creature of the RSS as Gadkari. So you replaced King Log with King Stork. Big deal.

And congratulations on acquiring the Pakinternetese language. Now you too can  when you find you have nothing intelligent left to say. Just goes to show that fundamentalists are fundamentalists everywhere, and their religious labels don't matter.

And for the likes of you? Remaining neutral, even supporting mass murder by goons, with the state agencies asked to look away? Are you asking us to accept that murdering women and children is smaller in the minds of people than corruption?

Speaking of which, have you even bothered to look at the corruption of the Sangh Parivar? Starting with the teflon-coated Vajpayee himself? Or with the ebullient Gadkari? Or the mangler of English from Andhra whom you (and Swapan DasGupta) were so thrilled with, until he was caught with his hands in the till?

Are you seriously saying that the BJP is corruption-proof? Do you think we are all idiots, and have not seen what they did in their very first government in the south in Karnataka?

@Joe Shearer, sir may ask two questions, If there has been a shred of evidence against Modi, why is he not behind bars?

Apart from that, rss affiliated or not, is there anything wrong with his developmental policies, his economic model, his administration?

no....still does not explain the absence of even a chargesheet against him.......11 years of witch hunt by a concerted group of congress (along with its lap dog CBI), ngos, media and self-declared intellectuals failed to uncover anything.....

ofcourse when one searches for an unicorn, he is no going to find it.....be it 11 years or 110 years.....

but i agree with you on one thing - only in india will the killer/justifier of killers of 5000 sikhs would have been awarded bharat ratna, hailed as a visionary and airports and bridges be named after him.......

even some days back veerappa moily said that the genocide of sikhs was an "emotional outburst"....hope secularism is alive and well after that......

I don't know which part of the world you live, but sure doesn't seem to me that you live in India

Yeah right...Jagdish Tytler is free, still we know what he did. But when it comes to modi it's supposed to be by the book? He's the CM of gujarat, he used his political power to squelch all evidence and trails. ANyone who dares to step against him is either killed (like Haren Pandya who approached the SIT ) or brutally victimized- like that IPS officer Sanjiv Bhatt. When a relatively small time guy like SPS Rathore can get Ruchika's case under the mat, get her brother beaten up by police, you think the CM of a state will do any less?

wow what an intelligent, factual rebuttal...way to go bro......guess you are a congressi..the iq level seems matching.....

You're IQ level don't seem to be matching to anything I've seen yet. He came up because of hard work, RSS don't have pre-eminent influence etc. kind of like a bollywood movie no?

If indeed there was a shred of evidence against him, M/s Sonia and Co wouldn't have left a page un-turned to get him behind bars.

what read the other posts?

I want you sir,the eloquent one to name the top 5 undemocratic actions by the Sangh Parivar?

And the ones who do not give random open comments are what precisely? Gadkari was the RSS candidate; nobody gets into authority without the RSS approval.

The reason behind Gadkari not being nominated/elected for second term is, he had been accused of graft... If you must know..

He saved millions of $$ when they built Pune-Mumbai expressway...
