Marines in itself a word comprises a very very special force that can do any job from highs of skies to bottom of seas and on land

In other countries Marines have weapons which none of other three forces even think of having

But in Pak it is different our Marines are tasked as security guards mostly with very little budget what navy gets Marines won't even get half of it they lack proper helicopters ships and amphbious ships and tanks

Few hovercraft they have but mostly navy uses them

Pak Marines should have dedicated gunship fleet as we are buying ATAK most of chunk army eats it Marines should be given proper share and authority over weapons like MI 17 are of lesser use to airforce than Marines C 130 should be given to Marines too AL KHALID tanks to save our shores from Indian invasion and few naval FRIGATES fully authorized dedicated under marine command autonomously

When we have budget of 100 billion Dollars, we can buy all the toys we want for Marines .. plus Corruption is a huge factor in our Armed forces too ..

It can get a lot better if we stop providing too much perks to our Armed Forces Officers. Like the NCB Culture. Each NCB to each Officer cost 15k a month. Providing him basic salary and medical facilities. We can save load of cash through this.

Pakistan Marines are not to be compared to US marines in role-wise, same goes for US and Pak rangers. Pakistan Marines are mostly for marsh-river warfare and the Sir Creek dispute was a critical reason for setting up that "branch".

agreed, not just this, but the extravagant houses being provided to them, the agricultural land being provided, the farm houses being "gifted" to them. it is creating a new feudal class.

Countries like the US and the UK use marines as an invasion force, so they invest in them. We don't have that ambition, we use them in defensive mode as part of the rest of the armed forces.

In Pakistan, for protection of Sir Creek region. However more Marine battalions are being raised for protection of key naval assets around the country.

You do realize that the US in the distant past and the UK in the recent past have disbanding their marine forces

Now is not a good time to waste money on Marines , we should wait for our economy to get better Inshallah , then our focus should be on building a strong navy along with a deadly Marine Force ...

Well in all honesty Marines are a extension of Military force and general training can be extended into specialized training at Sea to create an enhanced branch for the Military

We should just call these Assets as "All Weather Force" AWF force

As you can see we do not ave the Tools to Enable the "All Weather Force" to engage effectively at sea and dropping troops even as far as Oman or UAE


In order to have a effective Marine Division / All Weather Landing force from Sea
we do need at least 3 Amphibious Carriers and Ample number of Helicopter Gunships

We just need to have the Big Ticket Items to have an effective force that can launch a cross sea operation


We have the soldiers and man power but we just don't have proper Ships and Support groups that help the force to successfully launch a cross sea / ocean landdrop type mission

Which is a some what limitation as many countries have these assets


Big Ticket Items needed

• Need T-129 Local Production with Turkey project to conclude
• Need local project to manufacture Troop Transport vehicles at HIT
  
• Need some big ticket ships Amphibious Assault carriers etc
• Need MI-35 inducted in large quantity

From Training prespective the Marines are also trained in abundance in Ocean centric mission

In End we come to same conclusion lack of build up of asstes over 20-30 years have hindered Pakistan's overall capacity in this area. Had we planned sanely may be we would have had 3-4 Amphibious Assault Ships
