China investing in Iran $280 billion to $400 billion in Iran, while in Pakistan only $65 billion to $70 billion. While it can invest in Railway and Fiber Internet projects in all over the country..

{Please refrain from anti irani, sectarian and propaganda discussion, but healthy discussion}

One word stability!

Iranians unlike Pakistanis are no nonsense people and would go to any extreme to keep their backyard clean and tidy. Same could be said about the taliban. Tbh the ruling Pakistani oxford breed disgusts me to the core.

Yes that's very true. And in Pakistan we have deadly combination: Oxford leader, chitta Kora members.

Have you seen size of Iran VS Pakistan and its geographical location? Also Iran is clearly in anti US camp while Pakistan isn't

Maybe Iran has more to offer to China in return (oil, gas, raw materials China desperately needs). China does nothing which is not in their own interest. If they lend money, they do it not just to be friends, they have a strategy.
Which countries invest purely for friendship and expect losses? This is not only restrict to Chinese. It applies to any countries including US and western countries.

But do you think investment is only benefit one sided? Chinese believe in mutual benefit. Not the same can be say for some countries.

Let us Pakistanis become as fiercely patriotic and nationalistic as the Iranians are and protect Pakistan's interests and stability the same way Iranians do for Iran, then watch the investments from China to Pakistan shoot up.

Well said.

Western powers are delusional to think that their anti-China propaganda might impress people from developing nations. Most developing nations were robbed and colonised by Western nations. Western powers enriched themselves by looting many developing nations. China is looking for a win win instead. China doesn't dictate its terms and conditions to anyone. Western nations do till this day. What really bothers Western nations is that they are losing clout and the war of interests. Developing nations have an alternative and are indeed opting for China.

Maybe it's because they see Iran as a proxy or barrier against USA and the Gulf countries.

Yeah,that's a big advantage.

Still, China has invested a very big amount in Pakistan at a time when Anglo-Saxon nations don't want to play a cricket match and cite security as a reason to abandon Pakistan. Chinese labourers are working day and night in Pakistan on various infrastructure and economic projects. Contributing massively to developing Pakistan. Which country other than China would ever invest billions of dollars in Pakistan? Not even the Saudis and GCC bloc combined would ever invest such a huge sum. For us, China is an iron brother.

1- Business side: Iranian market is a lucrative market for any investor with 80 million people and money to spend. and it is a captive market meaning European, Japan or Koreans are not allowed to do business with Iran due to US imposed sanctions (not the case with Pakistan).

2- Security:..it is OIL, OIL and Gas...Iran has the largest oil and gas reserves combined in the world and these reserves are Independent from US actions..Ideal for an Economical /Military super power like China. Remember that availability of OIl (lots of it!) is the soft belly of china.

3- Political: Having secured Pakistan in south east Asia already they need to secure a middle eastern partner so why not go for the the one next door to Pakistan and spread the wings further ...that is what superpowers do..lol:undecided::undecided:

These replies pretty much sum it all up.

oil wells make for great collateral

Probably, but more importantly Iran has the means to pay back China immediately in the form of crude oil and natural gas.
