Chief of the Army Staff Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa assured the nation on Tuesday that the armed forces have distanced themselves from politics and want to remain so.

The army chief also reiterated his pledge to leave after the completion of his second three-year term in two months, saying that he would do as he promised earlier.

I'm part of few PTI official whatsapp groups.. noone is dissing army or bajwa there right now..their energies are focused on pmln and ppp.. and that's how it should be .

Every army chief knows exactly which batch of promotions will produce future coas candidates. Fudging is done pretty early and for all generals. Has been going on for a long time. What's one more (if at all)?

That said there's no real indication so far that Asim Munir will be the one. It's only media hype. As it is he still retires before bajwa so i'm unsure if he will even be on the list.

Was Faiz hameed also shifted only so he couldn't complete a year in a single corps? Will he be on the list because of that or no? More fudging?

In the past these labels were accepted as "need of the time" since every such event happened at time of political turmoil

Media was limited and easily controllable.

This time it happened to save corruption and media isn't controllable
