What's new

While Tejas Crawls The Thunder Rolls.

But its indigenous...I mean which part is indigenous?
Which part is not indigenous except for Ejection seat , Radome and engine ?
Except for engines All critical components are Indian made be it the EW Suit , FBW and most Important the Gallium Arsenide UTTAM AESA Radar which is also being upscaled to be used in Su30mki

Can the Tejas carry ASHM?
Does it have long range AAM?
Has it been deployed in combat before?
Has it been successfully exported to other countries?
Has it been used in combat by those other countries?
Has the Tejas completed 150,000+ hours of flight?
Has the Tejas exceeded 130+ operational units?

Because the JF17 has. Has the Tejas?
1. Yes Brahmos NG and NASM-MR (both made in India)
2. Yes made in India Astra series of air to air missiles Astra MK1 range 110km(operational) , MK2 160km(operational) range and MK3 300km (under development) apart from Russian Israeli and European missiles like meteor
3. Its in service with IAF
4.No
5.No
6. 10,000 hours of flight without any single accident
7. 40 operational units

Deigned was done in collaboration with whom?
Weapons systems are from where?

So it's still 100% indigenous fighter then is it?

Whom ?
designed by the Aeronautical Development Agency in collaboration with Aircraft Research and Design Centre of Hindustan Aeronautics Limited
Both of them are Indian public sector companies owned entirely by government of India

@Trango Towers HAL HF-24 Marut was designed by a German Engineer Kurt Tank but that was in 1961
India hired him for his services because he was one of the best in the world but even that doesn’t mean there was some kind of collaboration with Germany IP rights were completely owned by Indian HAL
btw HF24 Marut retired in 1985 , Tejas Program started in 1989 so don’t get confused between the two this is something i have noticed in many Pakistanis you guys mix HAL HF24 Marut and HAL Tejas

7. 40 operational units
1. Neither of them are currently in operational use
2. ASTRA MK1 is a medium ranged AAM not long range. MK2 and Mk3 variants not in operational use
3. Saying its in service with the IAF means nothing. I asked has it been used in combat? Answer is no
4. ( flight hours) 10,000 accumulated flight hours after being introduced into service from 2015...
5. So after 7-8 years of operational service the IAF only operates 40 units....

And you think the Tejas is the best fighter in its category 😂

Good to know that JF 17 is designed for export to third world countries with low military budget. Wishing you guys a spurt in defense export.
Our Tejas is not only overpriced but also has export limitations for having American engine and British ejection system. We will have to twist some arms or use heavy diplomacy to garner some export orders from friendly countries. 8-)

I will wait until end of January 2023 :-)

India tried to sell Tejas to third world countries and it failed miserably, nobody want Tejas . read the news man.

having an aircraft with export limitation is not an excuse for it not to be appealing to other countries, don't forget that JF-17 use British Martin baker ejection seat system, Russian engine and Chinese components.

and I advise you not to wait because Egypt already signed the agreement with south Korea for assembling FA-50 domestically

6th point 😂😂😂😂
That 10,000 hours must be by road (on a truck). Check again, it must be a typo.

Where did you get this information that Tejas is a joint venture ?
And if it was jointly developed then who was the partner ?
Su30MKI was jointly developed by India and Russia , Tejas is a made In India fighter jet and Rafales are french jets

Ejection seat for 1.... Google the rest
Ejection seat is not a critical component Indians import Martin baker Ejection seat from UK because they make the best ejection seat
USA also imports ejection seats from UK it’s not like USA doesn’t have this technology but why spend money on making an ejection seat when the best and the cost effective option is available already
Critical Components of Fighter Jet are
1.Engine
2.Radar
3.Avionics
4.Composite material
