What's new

When will Pakistan become a 1st world country?

In Pakistan it's all about 'lets keep our culture, our religion' while living lives slightly better than animals and then surviving on dole outs from the West or like my parents and millions more escaping to the West to live more economically rewarding lifestyle.
There's nothing new about this - people have been putting material gains above principle since the beginning of time.

That's actually a major source of Pakistan's, and the World's troubles. People putting material gains above principle.
Unity-faith-discipline went out the window the moment an opportunity for material gains showed up.

@TankMan I said things like LGBT are successor to development. Secularism on the other hand is deeply tied to development. As societies develop they become secular. Secularism was central to Western Renaissance. The hold of the church had to be broken for progress to take place. It happened either through evolution like in UK or revolution in France or Russia but all the same secularization was part and parcel of development process.
Secularism did play a part in the Renaissance, but technology is what led to development.

The Church was very strong up to the 1950s in the UK, though admittedly the Government was secular. The church is still strong in the US. The UK was developed before it abandoned religion. The US is developed and it still hasn't.

get rid of imf/world bank/ central bank, usury, credit card, wire transfer, cheques.

trade goods for goods, why becuase western money is printed and ours rupees has no value compared to it big fruad here including our labour is worth nothing. for example usa prints dollar out of thin air and buy real comodity saudi oil all for free wow. the rest of us have to buy usa dollars to buy the same oil but our currency is worth much much less, so we have to bring a wheel barrow of currencies to just match this and buy. That means we buying usa debt too.

by removing this system you remove zardari and rest of crooks. they rely on modern banking system to control and ripp off the masses.

gold and silver cannot be printed and are real tangible wealth but as it is in short supply then we should also print our own currency and fund all kind of projects and campigns and education.

america got its total freedom when andrew jackson fought against the rothshcild of england by saying no we would not renew the charter and started to print their own currency debt free.

unfortunately the rothschild used thier agents in america to bring federel reserve banking system.

The global corporate system is perfectly designed to squeeze the living sht out of underdeveloped countries.

Remove this system and replace it with one in which education and healthcare are state-run socialist, but small businesses and trade are free to develop. Add a limit to how much wealth one individual can accumulate - there is no legitimate reason for a single person to have 10 Billion USD (unless hyperinflation makes that the price of bread). Enforce this with an independent and partially militarized anti-corruption force.

Replace current voting system with Mixed-Proportional or Single Transferable Vote.
Add a Technocratic section to Parliament - fifty seats or so - so that the most qualified at least have a say in how the country is run. These seats can be distributed among professions and the professionals can choose representatives from within their Unions or similar orgs.

Get an efficient tax-collection system. If our politicians extracted taxes the way they extract votes, Pakistan's economy would be several times larger than it is.

Do all this and Pakistan becomes a developed country without having to compromise on religion and sell our souls to the West. Extremism will die out on its own when education is free, and birth rate will stabilise as well.

Of course, actually implementing things is what matters, and I don't see any of it happening in the near future. But one can hope.

When Pakistanis become sincere with their country

without having to compromise on religion and sell our souls to the West.
So the Chinese and Turks sold their souls to the West? No offence the biggest sell outs to the West are the religious monarchies like KSA and the other oily Gulfdoms that so many Pakistani's are enamoured of.

Uncle Sam please, please help !

Have the above mentioned countries ended up in the good books of the first world despite importing several of their ideals as you say?

No offence the biggest sell outs to the West are the religious monarchies like KSA and the other oily Gulfdoms.

And these rulers are despised by every sane person in the Muslim world.

No they have not. In fact it can work the opposite way. By adopting a pro development model a country can became strong and able to defy the dominant powers. This can bring angst from the West.

On the contrary you can run a religious hell hole like KSA which of course has no real strength to do anything is is beholden to US, thus is seen as a ally. China has adopted most of what West runs on but has taken it even further. It actually pose a real threat and you know what the situation is.

And I repeat China is one step ahead of the West. It is not just secular but hyper-secular.

You guy's are aware that most Chinese are athiest?

Top Athiest countries in the world.

1. China.
2. Japan.
3. Czech Republic.
4. France.
5. Australia.

This is something our diplomatic Chinese members take care to broach. But this is the reality. Chinese are most secular (hyper-secular) and irrelegious than any other people on earth.

Then that brings us to another dilemma. If Pakistan does end up becoming a developed first world country and the western world still eyes Pakistan with suspicion. Will not the Pakistani people revert to seeking solace in their Muslim identity?

You are talking about the enlightenment era, or the eureka moment?

When society transcends primitive classifications of others based on ethnicity, gender, sexuality etc.

Yes this is a hallmark of a 1st world mindset.

But you do understand for this to happen religion would need to take a back seat because it is torchbearer for demonizing differences? Secularism is also a common trait shared by 1st world countries. Don't get be wrong religion still has its place but not it is not the rudder which steers the ship.

So when will this eureka moment happen? Or is it intrinsically linked to GDP?

Deen is attached to every muslim we do try to follow our life according to islam so its imp for muslim to have their own system which is based on islam. we sud be worried about it cuz the less we follow the more we looks bad sooner they might call us 4th or 5th world.
Islam teaches us to give basic human rights to every citizen, Islam was the first world for 800 years. rest of them call their history is dark ages.

If Pakistan became first world and West gave grief it would react by giving West a thrashing - so to speak, as it would have the muscle to do so and in doing so sober it up.

Only the weak and lack of balls, so to speak fall back on burning flags and delivering fatwas, sermons and declaring jihads.

Pakistan, if it were developed with a population of 200 million plus would carry enormous clout in the world. There would be no need of delivering religious sermons when carrier battlegroups, nuclear attack submarines would do the talking in addition to huge economic leverage over the world.

At current trajectory I would say 2040 to become a BRIC nation.

2070 to become a developed 1st world country barring any major wars or an abnormal shift in global geopolitics.

Any other thoughts?

Sir, there are a few surveys and projections out. Before 2030, Pakistan will be one of the top 16th economies (at or below where Mexico is, but with smaller area to develop). And by 2045-2045 (if it doesn't get involved in serious wars and the globe doesn't see a WWIII), your country should be right at or below Australia (Top 11th economy, and less area to develop). So give it by 2030+. Pakistan is a small country area wise, compared to other countries I mentioned. So it has less area to develop.

Which means it will take much less $$$$ to develop Pakistan whether its roads, residential buildings to build, etc, etc. A small piece of land is developed much cheaper than the large one.

@Kaptaan for any group of people to turn en masse to atheism there should be a notion among them that their belief system is out of date....

Islam being the most modern of major religions, it is impossible for that to happen
