Speculation thread.
The only time ever a Pakistani warhead actual weight was mentioned was in the video of 1998 Ghauri Missile press release. The stated weight of warhead was 700 KG ( video is available on youtube).
So an Ababeel SSM carries three warheads in MIRV mode , and if Pakistan is still using warheads developed for Ghauri then Ababeel.throw weight must be at least 700x 3 or 2.1 tons, and then there is the weight of the MIRV assembly carrying guidance and Vernier jets, the total payload weight will be well in the range of 3 tons. Which does not look approptiate for a missile the shape and size of Ababeel.
The only other viable option is that Pakistan has since reduced warhead weight.
Say for example the three warheads are 400 kg each then total warhead weight will be 1.2 tons?
Addinng the other weights such as guidance system and BUS , and total payload may be 1.8 tons? Which is still heavy but does look appropriate for Ababeel's size , soecially diameter
Conclusion reached, Pakistan has reduced warhead weight since Ghauri.
