Yes the players were setup and they were setup-ed by Indian Lobby directly. All the bookies are stationed in India. We can see that how Indian media is framing Pakistani Cricketers by telling lies to the world this is what Indian media does all the time lie and cry.

India has always and is still trying its level best to destabilize and destroy Pakistan. This is what they have been doing right from the Est. Pakistan.

This happens in your country when a dog is called India immediately without looking here and there blames ISI and Pakistan for it. When Pakistan Intelligence and the military talks they talk with proves and facts. India never gives proves they only blame and then the media does the rest. So don't talk crap no need to look at Pakistan look inside your own collar because all the **** is there and no where else.

I am no fan of cricket or cricketers. These lousy sportsmen are a shame.
I feel they are not even sportsmen. They are only hungry for money, they try to make it which ever way it comes to them. They do it for self greed and the consequences the nation has to burden. As is evident here, how the nationalism is pouring in, in their favor.
Look guys if they are guilty, let the law hang them, I would say shoot them.
And same goes for all the Indian cricketers and bookies, as they are no angels. If any one is guilty, just bloody well shoot them.

FYI- Not reported in any Pakistani news so on purpose not giving a link, but the trio has admitted to taking money from the bookie, so the case is gonna get murkier. Those guys at World News have said they are going to release more audio discussions and even SMS between the players and bookies about match fixing.

There is no question about it. We have annoyed the gods and they have run out of patience with us. Even the most optimistic amongst us - a breed that is facing a quick extinction, have to admit that the way disasters cling to Pakistan leave iron filings and magnets far behind. Whereas disasters here used to sometimes happen in succession, they now occur simultaneously. We are burying the dead of the floods and end up burying the cricket set up, bats, pads and bails and just so that the gods ensure we understand what they are thinking, yet another mindless, crazed suicide bombing in Lahore and scores dead. Should one abandon everything and take up the ever rewarding career of an undertaker? Morbid and life-chilling thoughts that these are, we, who live here are forced to swallow this as our daily diet.

Resolve after resolve I have made with myself that I will not venture into what is now called cricket, though what resemblance the current exhibition of it has with what one grew up with is beyond my limited intelligence. This is some twisted hybrid variety of the game and its practitioners are compulsive gamblers, serial drug abusers and reckless rule-breakers. If the band of half-literate ruffians also called test cricketers is the stuff of nightmares there is a bigger and more frightening ogre called the PCB which has confounded the daylights out of everyone by twisting and turning like a venomous snake, lying, covering up, abusing power, abandoning all principles and yet acting as if they are not at all responsible for all that is crashing around them. But here I am, airing my two cents worth on Butt and Party - our misfortune that two ***** are involved, no pun intended. It also proves once more that two ***** don't make one right. Two ***** make a lot of *****.

The bizarre happenings in London are beyond description. Every few minutes there is another twist, another turn, the last one late at night with Butt the Elder threatening to call off the tour because Butt the Younger and his babes were set up by the News of The World - and it would seem, assisted by the forces of Satan who is never far from where the believers are, unfolding yet another nefarious design. In all this, the sombre-faced Butt the skipper has now been transformed into what looks like a grinning ape with Brother Asif the druggie and Brother Amir the moron, matching grin for grin with their much tainted skipper who carries in his room the kind of cash banks carry on pay day.

Long ago when our hockey had gone for a six and cricket had done the same - there was another inexplicable performance that baffled every one. I had moaned and groaned and said that why were our expectations so high where cricket was concerned and so low in case of the long deceased sport of hockey when cricket players were but hockey players in white flannels? No one agreed or understood because columnists are after all crackpots driven to produce drivel week after week. And now, hot off the press, the ICC has laid off the trio. What next I ask you?

What is the real reason behind our latest cricket scandal? I would not even dare venture in that direction considering that some higher-ups have inducted RAW into this 'conspiracy against Pakistan,' because RAW is afraid we might beat India and win the next World Cup. Why is Mossad not involved I have no idea. Clearly the boys from Tel Aviv are not with the ball and need to be indoctrinated with this game of high finance all determined by a 5 something ounce red ball that when rubbed on male thighs sends the beards into frenzied passion.

The truth is that when so many people are lying it becomes very hard to move forward with any purpose. And this much we all know - they are all lying. The trick is not to get caught. If you are, the best way out is lie. The PCB, a geriatric circus of clowns, is just as guilty of squandering loads of money on junkets and harebrained idiotic schemes and they have no idea or indeed an inclination to get the basics right first.

There is neither charisma nor fun in doing such dull things as building a nationwide cricket infrastructure. All that hard work and no fanfare cuts no percentage with our PCB. Far better to jet around, talk the talk, expound a few well-used, worn out at the edges, cliches, act as if the whole game revolved around your persona and bask in the occasional glory. When things go bad, which is what has been the pattern here, blame it on your predecessor, blame it on the country, on the raw talent, on the grounds, on the public - whatever, but never take the blame yourself. It is therefore fitting that such a headless and blind organization is led by people who are appointed in regal style by the monarch of Islamabad.

What does Mr.Zardari know of cricket? At least his late father-in-law did. Not him. Polo ponies ok, but cricket? No. Yet he presides over a structure which has brought the game into disrepute and made us look like cheats and swindlers in the eyes of the rest of the world. There are many people who are responsible for the mess we are in but the PCB is the one that first of all needs to be punished, sacked and sent home. Replace it with a pack of baboons and they will do a better job.

The cricketers have their hands smeared with ill-gotten money - far too much of it and should be dealt with in some credible and transparent manner, their income and the taxes they pay (ha-ha) should be now scrutinised, the yawning gaps between their incomes and their lifestyles should be thoroughly investigated. If they can find a single honest person here to do it, and if they fail to provide satisfactory answers, their assets should be seized. Ask anyone about Youhana's rise from rags to riches, Moin Khan who has a vulgar amount of plots, Shoaib Malik who rides a bike the millionaires of Europe can only drool about. The list is long and endless and needs a thorough scrutiny and punishment without fear or favour. These are huge stables to clear out and it is beyond the capability of this board and this government.

We are the pariahs of the world not just cricket. No one was coming here to play any way. Now no one will want to, hang the security. A few people have ensured that our name is mud - it was bloody muddy anyway and we are a pathetic sight, limping about overseas in our designer suits and begging bowls, clueless about the way the world runs and ready to commit any foul deed for whatever is offered. The floods, the killings, the lynchings, the mobs, the foul police, the dead justice system, the immoral government, the greedy armed forces, the hordes of the illiterate now landless - this is what we are. Cricket? It's just a reflection of who we really are. And that's our 'soft' image!

:sarcastic:One fine day when Indian P.M was watching a cricket match and saw Afridi score many Sixes so he ordered RAW to Defame and ruin him,
So raw set about staging a plan where the ball was given an apple sent ,poor afridi smelt it and he could't resist so bit in to it,RAW was their to take the pictures.:sarcastic:

The last week has shown the best and worst of Pakistan cricket…and by “best,” I really mean “worst.”

By now, we’ve all seen the grainy videos in hotel rooms and vans that implicated Mohammed Asif, Mohammed Amir, Kamran Akmal and captain Salman Butt in spot-fixing. That was bad enough, and has prompted enough anguish and hand-wringing to last us a few years.

But what followed was, in many ways, more disheartening. Instead of dealing with the fallout like a mature, competent organization, the PCB has bumbled its way to embarrassing lengths. Truth be told, no one could have expected it to be any different. After all, this is the same organization which did not see a single resignation after the Sri Lanka terrorist attacks in the spring of 2009, nor any high level departures after our brilliant tour to Australia, where we managed to win a grand total of zero games. But to see our worst fears about the ineptness of the PCB confirmed in these last few days has been galling.

Here’s the basic story, for those disgusted enough to have buried their heads in the sand. Once the scandal broke out, the PCB faced a choice: The first option was that they could act swiftly; take the accused players out of the firing line and withdraw them from the touring party; cooperate fully with the ICC and Scotland Yard in their investigations; and understand the gravity of the problem.

The second option was to deny that any evidence of wrongdoing on the players’ part; insist that they would play the ODIs and T20s; push back against the ICC’s Chief Executive recommendations that the players be temporarily sidelined; and force the ICC’s hand in suspending the players .

Which do you think the geniuses at the PCB opted for?

It comes as no surprise that Haroon Lorgat announced the suspensions of Amir, Asif and Butt, pending the completion of the investigation. They cajoled and urged all they could, but the PCB was adamant: these were mere allegations, they said. And people are innocent until proven guilty.

Which is true, technically speaking. But when the charges are this serious, and the initial evidence is so compelling, it behoves responsible adults to comprehend the stakes involved. The removal of Amir, Asif and Butt from the touring party would not have been an admission of guilt; it would’ve been the simple and sensible thing to do under the circumstances. It would’ve served the purpose of sending a signal to the rest of the cricketing world than we mean business, and we’re going to handle things properly. And it’s not as if the three players would have been in tip-top mental, emotional and psychological shape to play cricket anyway. But as it is wont to do, the PCB shunned its responsibility, and made the ICC do its work for it.

And that’s not all. You could almost excuse – almost, I said – the PCB not suspending the players straight away. Perhaps they wanted to send a message of solidarity with the players. Perhaps they didn’t want to appear as if they were kowtowing before the big, bad ICC. Or perhaps they simply wanted to be stubborn. Whatever the rationale, you can at least understand it, if not agree with it.

But what’s decidedly worse is the denialism that seems to have engulfed the usual suspects. Not to step on Nadeem F. Paracha’s toes, but it is truly amazing how blind to reason and fact segments of our society – and government – can be. Saying the players are innocent until proven guilty is one thing. But it is most assuredly another thing to suggest that the players have been “set up” – as the High Commissioner to the UK Wajid Shamsul Hasan did – or that the players are the victims of a conspiracy hatched by Indian intelligence agencies.

People actually believe this. Evidently, the Indians were in cahoots with a man who was the agent for half our team for years, as well as British tabloids, all for the express purpose of derailing the careers of our young stars. (It should be said that the conspiracy theory does have one thing going for it: it accounts for how Kamran Akmal has somehow escaped punishment – only the darkest and most nefarious enemies of Pakistan and Pakistan cricket would spare him).

These are probably the same people who believe the floods were an Indian/American conspiracy. Over the years, I’ve learned the hard way to not bother to try and convince these paragons of intellectual rigor.

The bare facts of the case point almost incontrovertibly to the players’ guilt. And if that’s not enough, I challenge you to watch Salman Butt’s first interactions with the press after the story broke – watch this video from about 4:05 to 4:55 – and tell me with a straight face the guy’s not involved. He certainly couldn’t manage it.

Thankfully, the people who believe that this is a convoluted conspiracy are not the ones in charge of investigating the case, nor are they the ones handing out the punishments. From here on in, the ICC is in charge, for better or worse. One hopes that they do not brush things under the carpet, and take full toll of anyone found guilty.

I also hope – contradicting what I said in the immediate aftermath of the scandal – that Mohammad Amir be shown some leniency. As many have argued, he is as more a symptom than a cause of the corruption in cricket. In a society such as ours, where devotion to ones elders is paramount, it is exceedingly difficult to imagine standing up to so-called “senior” players like Asif and Butt if they are encouraging you to partake in their shenanigans.

This is not to say that he should get off scot-free, or even anything close. But it is to say a full understanding of the circumstances here is in order. Amir is an 18-year-old kid. That he can bowl better than 99% of men ever born does not make him a man. He’s still a kid, who merely happens to do one particular thing as capably as a man: bowl a cricket ball. I can’t be the only one who wants to see him demonstrate that again.

Is there anything stable to destabilize? And cricket??? Give a look on the performance of Pakistan test team in recent years. who is going to waste his time to ruin such a team...

Unfortunately whole cricket board seems to be involved. Top to bottom everyone was making money. Because they been running the show for the last many years. Its all not just started. The biggest culprit is Ijaz Butt....silence of the lamb.
