War of 1971 - Bangladesh

genocide against innocent Bengali people for long 24 years.
what genocide exactly? the 3 million claimed by mujib ur rehman or the 300,000 claimed earlier by India? surprisingly enough the bangalis have failed to document this "genocide", and actually prove what they are saying to be true rather than parroting the 3 million figure without any proof.

It was never an Indo-Pak War in the East till the last few days - 22 Nov to 16 Dec, when India jumped into the fray to steal victory from us. Pakistan Eastern Command lost to us and should have surrendered to us but for the propaganda launched by Indians that we would lynch the surrendering soldiers. That was totally wrong and totally motivated. At many locations Pak troops did surrender to us and they were treated with respect due to POWs - without exception. Whatever lynching took place was targeted at the local irregulars - Rajakars, who had committed heinous crimes.
will you provide any proof for these claims? you would not have won an inch of of bangali land had India not intervened.

1.Training institutions of PA, like elsewhere, teaches The Principles of War. It is also hammered in that flouting these will mean defeat. In 1971, PA Eastern Comd (PAEC) did not follow even a single of these Principles. When the first bullet was fired on unarmed civil population - own citizens, it was clear that disaster awaited PA. The massacres had turned the entire population anti-Pakistan overnight.

2. By Aug-Sep, PAEC high comd had lost control over the battlefield - which was the entire BD. Bridges over rds and rly were destroyed in innumerable locations. ferries and inland jetties were damaged/destroyed. POL dumps at Chittagong and Godnail (S of Dhaka) were set ablaze by BAF using civil Otters which were fitted crudely for dropping bombs. Chittagong, the only seaport was made unusable by sinking several vessels in the stream leading to the jetty. There was hardly any power, transmitters and pylons getting destroyed everyday. By Oct Mukti Bahini had brought in Mors which shelled the Dhaka airfield. PAEC troops were mostly pushed into their posts or encampments. Night movement had totally stopped. Day movements were made only when absolutely necessary. That too with strong escorts and within restricted areas / on roads.

3. We now know GOP had tried desperately to get a cease-fire and negotiate withdrawal. But Indira was a master politician. She sought a damn defeat of Pakistan - which she had achieved.

proof?

1.It is surprising coming from one with R&D. Obviously you have read only reports put out by GOP. Best people to answer you would be mily officers who were serving in PAEC those days. Even the Hamudoor Rahman report point to PAEC loosing marbles around Sep-Oct. Anyway, I can immediately recollect two incidents:
a. US Consul Gen, Calcutta was making secret contacts with GOB in Exile for a ceasefire and withdrawal of PAEC from BD. Indian Intel soon got wind of this and immediately cut these off. Our govt fired Forn Min Khandokar Mushtaq and appointed Abdus Samad Azad in his place. Samad was an old socialist and popular with the Soviets.
b. During the gala gathering to celebrate Emperor Cyrus' legacy, Yahya made frantic appeals to the Shah to lobby with the Indians and the Soviets.
2. Indira had set her objectives clearly and was not be swayed by these overtures.
3. Obviously the debouched drunken regime of Yahya was not serious. Otherwise, he simply had to release Mujib and go forward as per his counsel. In fact, when Yahya had sent his bro (who was IB Chief) to Ayub for advice that his what he had suggested. He had added that last time Gen Man Singh's Army was drowned in the marshes by Bengalis. PA faced the same situation.

I asked you for documented proof, from an unbiased source. you still haven't pointed out the source of these claims.

What you ask is ridiculous. These are historical facts and are available if you care to search by yourself.

you are the one claiming such things, onus of proof lies on the person making these claims.
