The Pakistani ambassador said that Uzbekistan’s participation in regional projects was very significant during the meeting.

According to a statement from the Uzbek foreign ministry, there was a thorough exchange of views over the situation in Afghanistan and the efforts made by both countries and the international community to increase cooperation in that country.

Uzbekistan, Afghanistan, and Pakistan officials signed the roadmap for building the railway in Tashkent. The railway will offer a direct link between Central and South Asia as soon as it is finished, fostering connectivity, trade, and regional integration.

Moreover, according to the statement, the Pakistani envoy stressed the significance of Uzbekistan in achieving durable peace in Afghanistan and its regional integration processes.

Despite this, a railway connecting Bandar Hirtan in Uzbekistan with Mazar-i-Sharif in Afghanistan is operating. This railway line’s extension to Kabul and Peshawar would significantly improve regional connectivity, especially in fostering trade, tourism, and interpersonal relationships.

Regarding geographical location, Afghanistan has a significant position, connecting Central Asian countries of South Asia. This connectivity will boost the country’s economy, regional connectivity, people to people relations and enhance security relations among the regional countries.

Not likely to happen unless Afghans think they can trust Pakistan. This is yet another reason positive political outcome needs to occur vis a vi IK. The Afghans will drag this thing out. An IK led government with a unified polity behind him could better negotiate for Pakistan’s interests.
