In an apparent bid to offset growing Chinese / Russian and Iranian influence in South America, the US seems to be reversing it's traditional stance on certain nations. Venezuela seems to be one of them. President Maduro of Venezuela used to be called a "dictator" and someone who was using Oil as a weapon. But recently, the US firms want to spend billions to fund oil refinery in Venezuela and to support other Oil and Gas related initiatives.

This reversal in stance comes at a specific time when the Chinese are trying to gain influence in South America primarily through investments. The American decision on investment into Venezuela and other South American nations, seems to be a new balancing act to keep the Chinese and their money away from South America.

The following cover story is another example, in a similar situation with Uganda. There are talks in various circles of normalizing relations with Cuba as well.

QUESTIONS for Readers:

1) Will the US be successful in keeping the Chinese / Iran / Russian influence away from South America, Africa and parts of Asia?

2) Will some countries in South America / Africa / Asia allow the Chinese military to build bases?

3) Do you see any future alliance like we just witness between Russia and Iran, where Iran helped Russia in terms of providing defense equipment and stalled a Russian defeat to some degree. Their loitering munitions did a lot of damage to the Ukrainian infrastructure.

4) Do we see larger investments from the Chinese in the future to counter the US? (since the US is now getting involved to use it's "soft power")?

Brother - Yoweri Museveni is the president of Uganda I believe, and not Venezuela....and that newspaper is also from Uganda.

However this is only the "news' of an MOU or a proposal of and American investment in Uganda, rulers of 3rd world countries float propaganda like this all the time - to justify their political legitimacy. In fact Hasina does this in Bangladesh too every other week.

India has always been a proponent diplomatically of bringing in Venezuelan oil , to bring the prices down.

With MBS and Russia making moves not conducive to American hegemony , this was inevitable.

The only stance , America will bide by until the end , is the stance of being a Hypocrite.

America flip flops with the wind, you might as well trust a used car salesman.

Lmao. Since when is uganda a south american country? 🤣🤣🤣😂
Thats musseveni, he has been ruling uganda for almost 38 years now. Try and get some more knowledge and read at least what you are posting before making your point against the US/West. Lol

Thing is, Venezuela doesn't need USA's technological support. They have received the fill-the-gap support from Iran.

About American investment, we know how it works. The first thing to lose would be Venezuela's political independence. Venezuelan leaders and its people are wiser than that, they know they can't trust Americans. American investment comes with political attachments.

In the oil sector, USA is the actual no body. Venezuela has enough friends to overcome the existing problems.

kindly re-read the post. There was a line that didn't get added on properly. Yes, the image is about Uganda as an example and South America in general. I've fixed the missing line so it's updated now. Thanks for identifying it.

Is that right? Sensible and educated people can read and understand the caliber of the other person. If then common sense tells them there was something that got cutoff or the context was missing, they identify the poster, like this gentlemen did and I fixed what was missing. This is what happens when you open up threads on IPhone vs. laptop (bigger screen so you can see more). The context has been updated.

About "knowing the West", I'm the last one to brag about something. Rest assured, I definitely know MORE about the West and East than you can imagine. Thx though!
