US Returns Stolen Gandhara Antiquities to Pakistan

I am fascinated by the ancient northern Pakistanis who form the Gandhara civilization. They look very posh and refined people, their get up, those "manbuns" and hairdo. Nothing is left of that culture though its not very old civilization as compared to the overall civilization of Pakistan , the Indus valley. Who were these people, why they appeared so different from say, rest of the Indus valley lot? You can still relate IVC, which is the oldest civilization in the world, to present day Pakistanis, things like Ajrak is still worn in both Urban and Rural Sindh. However, there is nothing left, culturally of Gandhara among northern Pakistanis.

Just a food for thought. There was a ancient Pakistani monk of Gandhara who migrated to present day Korea, and he is the one who Koreans attribute to "the one" who spread Buddhism in their lands. Pakistani influence, for all the right or wrong reasons, goes much much deeper into world affairs then people realise.

Glad that Pakistan respects its heritage. Afghans (Taliban) have not done justice to theirs in the past.

The country is still rather mixed on this issue I'm afraid, but thankfully things are heading in the right direction.
