WASHINGTON: The US State Department has removed
"inaccurate" maps of India and
Pakistan from its website which
did not reflect the correct
boundary and geographical
locations.
"We have taken the map (of India)
off the website. It did contain
some inaccuracies which were
associated with the boundaries of
some geographic features, " State
Department spokesperson Victoria
Nuland told reporters at a news
conference on Monday.
"My understanding is that is the
way that it was inaccurate, that it
wasn't drawn properly," Nuland
said.
"We will put up the new map
when we acquire one that we are
confident is accurate, " she said in
response to a question but did not
answer questions from where such
inaccurate map came from.
"This was unintentional. We're
going to get the map fixed and put
up a fixed map," Nuland said.
The State Department is also
pulling out such maps from other
sections of its website, she said
adding that this was unintentional.
The State Department pulled out
from its website the maps of both
India and Pakistan, as they showed
***************** Kashmir (***)
as part of Pakistan, which was first
reported by the Times of India,
following which the Indian
government had lodged a strong
protest with the State Department.
Under its A-Z list of countries, the
website www.state. gov carries
profiles and maps of all countries
with which the US has diplomatic

And what is wrong with this map? US has never supported India's or Pakistan's claim on the entire territory of Kashmir since the 63 year old dispute. So what does India expect now? For the US to make Azad Kashmir part of India. That would mean US supports India's claim on Kashmir.

Why is India denying the fact that there is a Line of Control and no Indian citizen can enter Azad Kashmir while every Pakistani citizen can visit Azad Kashmir anytime we want.

America want India to lead Asia. US want Pakistan under India policy in trade/economical/electricity/transport wise that is why Pakistani govt go for MFN/trade etc with India. The only one problem is Pakistan establishment (Military) who is the main problem for US and India. Pakistan Army is corrupt or whatever it is but the fact yes PAKISTAN Military and ISI is the biggest threat for India and US policy in this region.

It wont make any difference what kind of map they draw up. Everyone (including Indians) know that Azad Kashmir can never be India's and no Indian can enter Azad Kashmir while every Pakistani can enter Azad Kashmir anytime we wanted.

If India is having problems in India Occupied Kashmir, then they can handle Azad Kashmir only in their dreams. Azad Kashmir is one of the few places in Pakistan which has 100% Muslim population and is the place in Pakistan where India is most hated.

Sometimes its hard for some people to digest the truth ... in this case we all know who ! as always no matter what Azad Kashmir is part of Pakistan & the people there support their love for Pakistan as their country end of the story the ones that are crying let them keep crying it won't change a damn thing in end of the day the Pakistani flag :pakistan: will look more beautyful then ever in Azad kashmir ;)

i don't see anything wrong with the map the area of Azad Kashmir & northern areas ( gilgit & baltistan) which is under the administration of Pakistan should be shown as part of the-disputed territory governed by Pakistan, like wise the area of jammu & Kashmir which is under the administration of India should be shown as part of the-disputed territory governed by India like wise aksai chin which is administered by china should be shown as part of the-disputed territory governed by china as accepted by international laws & norms it's perfectly fine as it gives the right picture of the situation based on ground realities because both India & Pakistan are signatories of the 1949 cease fire line agreement, the Tashkent agreement of 1965 & the Simla declaration of 1972, plus china & India's understanding as per the 1962 line of actual control understanding, therefore i don't see anything wrong with the maps posted on the U.S department of state website

hey i mean come on internationally recognized position's based on ground realities & agreements can not be & should not be tempered by what the Indian Constitution says or for that matter what the Pakistani Constitution says its just not morally right the map is perfectly fine i don't see any thing wrong with it whatsoever even the BBC has the same map
