with an eye on countering China, US Navy looks to be ramping up Naval ops in the Indian Ocean with the formation of a entire fleet command. Where do you think they will base their fleet HQ; Diego Garcia? Perth?

What will be the implications for Pakistan? The Pakistan Navy in how it will have to operate, considering the intelligence sharing agreements between the US and India? Does China plan to build facilities in the region to ensure its SLOCs remain open?

Quad is definitely worried about losing oil access from ME. Can't fight a modern war without oil. Jets Tanks and warships can't be powered on batteries. Watch and observe is best for now.

India should let US have it's base there like that of Yokosuka or Subic.

CPEC is gaining even more importance now!! The Chinese products, with the final manufacturing done along the OBOR, can bypass the sea lanes where the adversaries will spend money on their naval assets for nothing....

Whatever happened to containing China in the First Island Chain? Did those punks give up on that already? How pathetic. In another few years we'll have the US try to contain China in the Atlantic.

Except the SLOC from Gwadar to Djibouti and Kenya. Holding that link connects China with Africa through friendly Pakistan. Once in Africa they can trade by land. Defending that strategic route maybe be crucial to the success of a large part of OBOR, hence the importance of CPEC to China that they are changing their military doctrines to fight if they need to defend their investments overseas.

They don’t want to become the next Cold War Germany, a battlefield between the US and the Reds.

Does this have anything to do with the recent trying to "own upto Pakistan" and "improve relations with Pakistan" that we're seeing from Washington nowadays?
Last year, and before that, infact the entire decade all the US govt did was shittalk us despite all the services we provided (supply lines etc), and there's a sudden stop in all of it. They've even tried making relations better.

NO, Thanks for no thanks.

We should continue to increase our military and navy power to response any threat from china. China is not strong enough when comes to indian occasion.

There are no American strategists left.

The Americans are acting stupidly. If the US does not go to war with China then all Chinese ships will be free to sail. The US Navy is of no use.

If the US and China go to war then the US navy should stay in the Pacific to defend the Chinese navy from attacking Hawaii instead of going to the Indian Ocean to try to block Chinese merchant ships. Because by the time of total war, the Indian Ocean shipping lanes were not important, China's internal oil production can meet military needs, while the civilian economy has long been restricted.

Decentralized naval deployments will lead to a dramatic increase in the area that the US needs to defend. With the Chinese air force now able to attack more than 6,000 km, does it make sense to have naval bases in South Asia? If you want to block the malacca route, just put the naval base in Australia.

Chinese also have ambitions for the Indian Ocean

and China can also deploy its carrier strikes group to oceans far from home within next 5 years

US no longer dominates this area alone they will have to share it

during Cold War USN had 2 x carrier strike groups in the Mediterranean for the best part of 40 years

Let China first develop proper jet engine and then we can discuss how it will challenge USA in Indian Ocean..... science and innovations that keep coming out of USA is yet to be seen in the history of mankind.... they are testing 6th generation fighters and poor China is struggling for engines.....
