Hellfire Missiles (Image: Lockheed Martin)
- A +
The US State Department has approved sale of 4000 AGM-114 R/K Hellfire Category III Missiles to the United Arab Emirates for $476 million.
The Defense Security Cooperation Agency delivered the required certification notifying Congress of this possible sale on May 11, 2016.
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has requested a possible sale of four-thousand (4,000) AGM-114 R/K Hellfire Missiles over the next three years in increments of 1000 to 1,500 missiles. Also included in this possible sale are training and technical assistance, the DSCA said in a statement last Friday.
The prime contractor will be Lockheed Martin. There are no known offset agreements proposed in connection with this potential sale.
