UN nuclear chief meets FM Bilawal Bhutto during Pakistan visit

ISLAMABAD – Director General, International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Rafael Mariano Grossi landed in Pakistan on Wednesday for his two-day visit.

Soon after arriving in the South Asian nation, the Director General IAEA called on Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari in Islamabad where the two exchanged views on matters of mutual interest.

During the meeting, FM Bilawal stressed the use of atomic energy in the areas of health, agriculture, industries, and electricity.

The visiting dignitary appreciated Pakistan's nuclear capabilities. He is scheduled to visit different institutions employing nuclear technology, Foreign Office said.

Grossi’s visit will help Pakistan and the world's ‘Atoms for Peace and Development’ organization to explore avenues and to boost cooperation in the area of peaceful applications of nuclear technology.

The country of over 220 million is a founding Member of the International Atomic Energy Agency for more than 50 years and enjoys longstanding and mutually beneficial collaboration with all members.

Great achievement by the incumbent government and our establishment.

They can't force a sovereign nation to de-nuke.

No one is planning sanctions.

What can they possibly offer that would be sufficient incentive ?

We should ban the UN as it is a useless organisation.

He meet Bilwaal because he/she is the product of excessive radiation LOL

Doubt its do with de nuking Pakistan.

It is more to do with IMF deal. Bilawal is gone with a message from the establishment, to mention Pakistan will become unstable if IMF deal is not passed.

Not a pretty sight any how.

Generals will never denuke Pakistan. Nukes are the only thing stopping foreign armies from invading Pakistan and incompetent generals knows well without nukes, invading Army will be hanging them upside down for interrogation like Iraqi generals in Abu graib.

Generals gotta cover their A$$.

Calm down. PMLN did nuclear bomb blast despite threats from U.S, PMLN will be the last party that agrees to denuclearise Pakistan.

Hatred should be under certain levels. And there should be gratefulness. India would’ve swallowed us if PMLN hadn’t done those nuclear blasts
