Two U.S. Navy guided-missile destroyers sailed through the Taiwan Strait separating mainland China from the island of Taiwan, a message likely to stoke more tensions between Washington and Beijing amid an ongoing trade war.

The American destroyers Mustin and Benfold, both based in Japan, transited the strait from south to northeast beginning at roughly 9 pm ET Friday night and will conclude mid-afternoon Saturday around 5 p.m. ET, according to three U.S. defense officials who spoke on the condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak with the media. The development was first reported by Taiwan News.

What is the big deal about this consider that US had already dispatched 2 carriers in 1996 in the region. I think it's a good new for PLA-N since they can use this event to get more funding for extra bonus 055 :D
What's the use of extra 055 if they are always in Port and too scared to confront the Americans.?
Now even inferior powers like France and UK are freely thumbing their nose at the Chinese .
Pretty humiliating for the Chinese after all the expense of the artificial islands and a massive navy.

Make sure to shot down every satellite orbiting space.

China has a dilemma here. If she confronts the US, the US will recognize Taiwan as an independent state and if she doesn't the US will increasingly become reckless.

they are made for use in real war, not to sink ships doing 'innocent passage. your internet armchair general iq wouldn't understand that :D

China don't need to do anything (不动如山) which it is the best deterrence to US's adventurism in this region, when US dispatched 2 AC in 1996, we developed DF-21D as counter-measure and then US is crying that China is developing A2/AD to limited US's freedom of navigation and move their Aircraft carriers thousand miles away.
US is only intimidate a weak navy but with the increase of Chinese Naval power, US will back down automatically and eventually you will never see US navy in Asia ever again.

We built artificial islands, Americans begged us to stop and cried lamentably, you tell me who got humiliated.

LOL pretty rich considering how China controls the island at will and all your superpower America can do is fly and sail in circles.

Fvck this Indian. He is false flagger.

Who wants to bet that the USN has been transiting Virginia or LA class SSNs without the Chinese ever noticing them? Or even Ohio-class SSGNs for that matter?

The USN's biggest asset against the PLAN is its submarine force.
