i saw a report on military hovercrafts commissioned in US on discovery channel, man they were beasts, some were large enough to accommodate nearly 15 hummers and army trucks

Sure, In Salem, there is a Mini Plant and Simulation center for training and Manufacturing Hovercrafts there... Its basically for adventure and hovercraft tourism development.

The company name is AVION HOVERCRAFTS from Tamil Nadu
Well then it is time we start making them for military purposes. The Coast Guard should ask these guys to refit the Hovercraft bodies with strong armour and extent its nose and rear end (reduce the passenger cabins in this case) and replace them with something like Kashtan CIWS and BrahMos ship-borne missiles or even the Klubs.

These are the sort of modifications and innovations that our military producers should be doing so as to gain an international reputation of an emergent military supplier.

There are many island nations that are our friends and armored attack hovercrafts would be big revenue earner for these AVION guys. Maledives, Singapore, Fiji are some to name apart from countries having significant coastlines.
